My "bachelorette" activities

My wedding ceremony is 11 days away. It's actually a Catholic "convalidation" ceremony for hubby and me, married 38 years and couldn't have a Catholic wedding back then. It's a short, simple ceremony during a regular Sunday Mass, with our son as Best Man, my best friend as Matron of Honor, and a wedding dinner for 8 of us. My MOH has been planning "bachelorette" activities for several months now: concerts, lunches, shows, a "retreat", and today's final one: a lunch at a lovely nearby restaurant, and from her, 2 bags full of cute, funny and heartwarming gifts, things like packs of oysters, a can of spinach (for the groom!), a pack of "sexy olives" (yup, that's what they're called!), 2 small bottles of champagne, a small pink fluffy mat shaped like a bearskin rug, a sweet personalized bride and groom ornament, etc. /We had a delightful lunch, glasses of wine and cordials, and we laughed the whole time, about 2 1/2 hours! We were in a quiet corner of the restaurant, and the wait staff was enjoying watching the 2 of us have fun. Oh, and btw, I'm 71, she's 77! No 2 25 year olds could have had that much fun! The gifts were very cute and clever! My MOH, who has been very instrumental in having this day come about and helping me plan (she's also our church's music director/organist) is almost having more fun than I am! Today, after our lunch, I also presented her with her MOH gifts which included a pearl and silver bracelet with 3 charms that include her initial.

Sounds like both a wonderful outing and relationship. Congratulations and best wishes for a beautiful ceremony.

Thank you for your good wishes! Yes, she is a doll! She has been a great friend for many years, a church organist all her adult life and a woman of great faith, despite many tribulations. This wedding was actually many years in the making. Thanks again!
