Mums as Centerpieces

Macee, on May 10, 2019 at 4:09 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 3

Getting married on 10/12/2019 and having a hard time deciding on what to do for centerpieces. Has anyone else done mums? Colors are burgundy, tan and black. The reception is in a barn, black tablecloths, burlap with lace runner on round table. I do have the option to use laterns and birdcages the venue already has. Please help the decorations and floral are stressing me out the most!

My cousin used mums for her ceremony set up for her fall wedding. Aren't mums usually in large arrangements? May be too big for the tables. But could definitely be placed elsewhere! Maybe since you already have lanterns and other things through the venue, have the florist do some simple (in season) fall flowers in your color and some greenery and incorporate the lanterns. Lanterns and barns are romantic!

Date twins! We're doing bright flowers, though. But my stepsister got married in October several years ago, and she used mums. They don't have to be potted, they can be cut and used in any size arrangement you want. They look lovely, they're seasonal, and they're inexpensive. They're a really good choice. We'll have daisy mums and the green pom pom mums mixed in with several other kinds of flowers. One of the fantastic things about them is that they do come in many colors, and several different shape varieties. Neither of the ones I'm using are what most people think of when they think "mums". But the traditional ones are what my SS used. Again, quite lovely.

Hey Macee! I think mums would look really great in a centerpiece. Have you looked on Pinterest for some inspiration pictures?

The lanterns would look beautiful as well, it very much depends on what style of centerpiece you want to go for.
