Morning food while getting ready

Katie, on September 9, 2020 at 3:28 PM Posted in Planning 1 11
Okay another question for you all!! My bridesmaids and I are all starting to get ready at 6:30am as my ceremony is at Noon. What type of food should I get? I have no one who has allergies or special diets. I was thinking of fruit and pastries and water or juice. I just don’t want anything to heavy.

What do you all think or what have you done?

We’re also getting ready very early because our ceremony is at 10am. We’re doing bagels, fruit, coffee, and mimosas. I don’t want to be hangry on my wedding day!

I’d add some yogurt/oatmeal or something with protein but otherwise sounds good!

We got Panera delivered for breakfast & lunch. For breakfast specifically, I did a fruit & veggie tray, bagels & cream cheese, and a pastry array. I also had protein bars, water bottles & coffees.

We got donuts and bagels from Dunkin Donuts. Our venue provided coffee and water. You want to make sure you provide something that will sustain them and I. I would worry that fruit might not be filling enough.

I recommend earing things that won't cause bloating or gas, such as yogurt.

My venue does suite catering that can be used towards our food and beverage minimum which we plan to take advantage of. I think the things I picked where fruit skewers, an assortment of muffins, a Wisconsin meat and cheese board, lemonade, and a mimosa bar (which includes cranberry, grapefruit, and orange juice). I included more heavy stuff because we are starting at 10 and the ceremony isn't till 4. You can never go wrong with some fruit and breakfast food!

I’d add something with a little heft, like a protein. I took some (bad) advice to avoid carbs and stick to light bites...it’s okay if *you* want to do that but the others may want to get some real sustenance in before a long day! We had egg cups and fruit while doing hair and make up and left F A M I S H E D. Haha sure we weren’t bloated but we were desperate for food— we went to town on a bag of Goldfish crackers as soon as we got to where we were getting dressed because it was the first thing we saw 🤣. So better to have a little something extra available. Some packaged protein bars are a good idea as they won’t go bad if left uneaten!

Thank you for the info. I agree to having substance as well. I am thinking bagels, yogurt parfaits, a fruit tray as well as granola bars and other things along those lines. We are not changing locations so everything can stay where we are throughout the morning. We head to the ceremony just before noon and then we will eat around 3pm for an early dinner. I just need to make sure we have breakfast for them in the morning.
