More than one registry?

Tosha Fay, on January 12, 2020 at 9:35 AM Posted in Registry 0 12

How many registries did everyone have? What would you consider excessive? Did you did separate registries for different events, i.e. bridal shower, engagement party, wedding, etc.?

You don't need multiple registries for multiple events. However, it is not uncommon to have 1-3 stores that you register at. You don't want to duplicate things across the different stores, and you want to have a range of items in different price points for people to choose.

We have 2, one for amazon and another for Williams Sonoma. I wouldn't have more than 3. Personally I don't think separate registries are needed for different events, as many of the registries nowadays are able to show guests what has already been purchased for you by others. Plus, that would just get super confusing for guests.

Thank you! I've never done this before and I have heard so many different opinions. We have three, but they carry very different items and I'm feeling like it's too much.

That's what I did. I have 3, but I did it so that there would be a wide variety of items and prices. It seems excessive, but I thought giving each guest 2 to 3 options to choose from was a good idea. Thank you for your help.

3 is a fine amount, I just wouldn't have more than that. It's especially fine if they carry different things. I just would advise not having separate lists for all your functions. It gets way too crazy for your guests.

We had three - B, B, & B and Target - because we knew that all of our guests lived close to one, the other, or both and Disney, because Disney. We just did our registries and figured if they were "bought down" by pre-gifts or the bridal shower, then people would give us cash.

It all may feel like you are asking for alot, but I think that's normal. My FH and I aren't used to asking for things, and our registry feels massive, though we are mostly asking for kitchen things. I wouldn't worry too much Smiley smile

That's what I thought and a couple of my friend's thought it would be easier lol. I was getting a headache trying to remember the plan.

We did Amazon, Wayfair, and BB&B. Amazon mostly ended up being things my fiancee wanted, I'm BB&B and then Wayfair was for our home.

I think that's our problem too, we are very independent and self sufficient. It is hard having a registry for us lol.
