Mom’s matching color

Aly, on November 14, 2023 at 11:41 AM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 6
So I’ve talked to both mine & my FH’s moms about wearing matching colors for the wedding. I told them they could wear any shade of green or blue but they could choose between the two of them I told them each this a few weeks ago. My FH’s mom just texted me that she bought a dress but it’s purple. I don’t think she would’ve done it on purpose but it does feel sort of weird that she didn’t talk to me about it before getting it. How do I go about this? Or should I just let it slide and not make waves? Maybe it’s too much to ask for them to coordinate outfits?
TIA

I would let it go. Typically the bride/couple doesn't designate parents' attire.

The parents can wear any color. They don't need to match the bridal party or your wedding colors. Let her wear her purple dress.

You overstepped. The moms are adults who dress themselves. They are honored guests or sometimes co-hosts, not members of the bridal party. Let it go.

Let her wear the purple dress. At least it's close to blue. Not worth rocking the boat.

It’s not usual for the MOB/MOG to have their outfits dictated beyond general formality level. I’d let this go.
