Minnesota Wedding ! Weather

YaYoua, on May 1, 2017 at 9:00 AM Posted in Minnesota Planning 0 5

We've been engaged since July 2016. We're finally planning our wedding. There is a problem! We are not sure what time/month of the year to do our wedding. If you live in MN, you should know the weather is always changing.. One week it can be warm & beautiful. The next, it can be snowing & freezing.. He wants an outdoor wedding, but what if it rains?!

I'm from Minnesota too! Maybe book a venue that has an indoor backup option for weather issues? Make sure ahead of time that you like both the outdoor and indoor options?

No matter where you live, it's always smart to have a backup if you're having an outdoor wedding! I would not put all the time and money into creating just a Plan A, only to be devastated if the weather didn't cooperate. Find a venue that has a nice outdoor setting, but also a solid indoor option you can use in the event of rain/storms/ etc.

Im in MN and am feeling your pain. Im having an outdoor wedding in 2 weeks and i have a back up indoor plan. This weather is awful. I was hoping for sun and warm temps to get the flowers growing and blooming since our ceremony is in a gardens. Im beginning to think about forgoing it and move it inside. Ugh. I really dont want to. We will have the ceremony in our reception venue. I have already talked to them about it.

That is always a risk your going to have to take since your planning this so far in ahead. I wound do what every one else has said. Find a place that has a backup for inside Incase it’s raining or really hot that day (I am getting married in June, so that is also a problem).

We are planning outdoors this memorial weekend, which we all know from MN is always cool and rainy, in Northern MN anyway. We are eloping and where we are getting married has options, in and out. My advice is to find somewhere that has a back up indoor or rent a large tent just in case. If renting a tent, use it as your reception hall regardless. That way if the weather is bad, guests have seating available while being covered. Second bonus, if possible, all one venue.
