Minneapolis area brides!!

Olivia, on September 11, 2018 at 9:03 AM Posted in Minnesota Planning 0 14

Hi Everyone!

I'm looking at making appointments at bridal salons around the Twin Cities area in Minnesota, and I'm looking for recommendations! I'm looking for places that will be plus size friendly for both brides and bridesmaids!

Thank you! Smiley smile

I know some people don't want to do David's bridal for some reason (I used to be that way), but honestly I went to a few bridal salons and had the best experience at David's. The one in roseville is brand new and GEORGIOUS! otherwise I have heard good things about lux bridal.

Hi Olivia! Welcome to WeddingWire! Smiley ring Have you tried looking in the WeddingWire Vendor Search for Bridal Salons in Twin Cities? This is a really helpful tool to help you explore bridal salons in your area! You can even filter them by location and clientele! Do you have an idea of the style of dress you are looking for?

I would recommend the Wedding Shoppe on Grand Ave in St Paul. My cousin got her dress there and they had a great selection!

Hey there! I ordered my wedding dress on Azazie online. They have a variety of bridesmaid, mother of the bride, and bridal gowns in a variety of sizes. You can order sample dresses that they send directly to your home of standard sizes and then order the one you like. You can order the dress in custom or standard sizes and it takes 4 - 8 weeks to ship! Great experience especially if you are on a budget!

As a plus size bridesmaid, I've had two really terrible experiences at the Wedding Shoppe on Grand. Forced myself and other plus size bridesmaids to order several sizes up on $200+ dresses (plus an upcharge for any size over a 12) which we all had to pay at least an additional $200 to get altered back down to our real sizes. And they don't do alterations in house, so we all had to find our own tailors that could do bridesmaid dresses. I've heard great things about Luxe and have had a good experience myself so far trying plus size wedding dresses on at David's Bridal.

I got my dress at the wedding shoppe!! The girl I had helping me was amazingly nice and helpful. It was a little pricey for what I was looking for but I found one close to my budget in the size that fit me almost perfectly. Also David's bridal is nice for a range of sizes but the variety in those sizes does get a little frustrating.

I had a good experience at David’s Bridal. Dress was actually purchased in a different state while I was on vacation (visiting my future bridesmaid) and shipped to me, and I was able to bring to a local store to have it altered.

I went to Luxe and it was a good experience in terms of the staff being really nice and there actually being gowns I could try on. I also went to the Wedding Shoppe, Brides of France, Che Bella, and I walked in (and right back out of) Posh Bridal. The most comfortable experiences were at Luxe and Brides of France in terms of the staff putting me at ease. Ultimately I bought my dress at Bombshell Bridal in the Detroit area. If you can make a roadtrip down that way, I think it's worlds better than Luxe and I had a fantastic experience. More dresses and a great, super friendly staff. At Luxe they chose dresses for me and brought them to me, which was fine, but I much preferred Bombshell where my stylist and I walked the store together and picked dresses. We did a second lap later to make sure we didn't miss anything I might be interested in. They were phenomenal.
