Mini Moon

Just curious to know just how many of you put off your honeymoon? I always thought you went the day after the wedding? But my husband and I flew out to California be with his mom this past thanksgiving and she lives in the Bay Area. And thankfully for us Napa is only a 40 minute drive so that’s when we decided to make it a mini moon.

We are putting it off by a month so we can catch up on work, get paid a couple times lol, make sure the dog doesn’t feel like we’ve abandoned him forever, and keep the excitement going post-wedding. But we’re also doing a destination wedding, so we’ll be staying a few extra days to do a mini moon immediately after. Best of both worlds!

We're getting married on 11/11/23 so a honeymoon right after would interfere with hosting Thanksgiving, which is my absolute favorite holiday. We're doing a cruise in mid-December instead.

We are leaving the following Tuesday for a short little "moon" in Disney. The big Honeymoon is the following month when we take an 11 day French Riviera and Italy cruise!!! Our travel agent found us an amazing price if we would wait, so that's what we did. OMG OMG OMG 142 more days til we say "I Do" ...... gack!

Have a honeymoon ASAP after the wedding. 37 years ago we got married in June and delayed the honeymoon til the following April because we'd just bought his Granny's house when she went into a home. The following April I was 7 months pregnant. House needed much fixing and we had our son. Life happened and we never got our wedding trip. Next June we're having the ceremony at my church we couldn't have 37 years ago. Then, we're having our honeymoon!

We left for our honeymoon the Monday after our Saturday wedding, but my brother and SIL did a minimoon with two nights at a resort after their wedding before going back to work. They just did a big trip (without their kids) for their 10 year anniversary.

Our plan is to do a minimoon for about 5 days after the wedding. Probably lake placid. Then will have a bigger honeymoon when we financially recover a bit. Hoping to have it booked by our wedding.

We waited a month to go on our honeymoon - mainly because we had to push our date a few months and the month we ended up getting married I was also busy at work, so I didn't want to take two weeks off during that time. We liked having the extra few days to spend with family and friends that came from out-of-town, and also allowed us more time to finish planning an amazing trip without the stress of wedding planning looming over us too.

We did ours two months after the wedding, because I'm a teacher and can only take long vacations in the summer.

There's no required length or agenda to make it a Honeymoon. So, I wouldn't bother with an idea of a minimoon, like you're missing out on a real honeymoon. Just go live it up in Napa like newlyweds.

We decided to do a mini honeymoon after the wedding, our actual honeymoon a few months later. We want time to save up again for the honeymoon we want. Plus, the weather will be better for us. We are having a fall wedding and a spring honeymoon.

We are getting married in June, but are having the honeymoon in October to fit in with my work schedule. Our honeymoon is going to be in Japan so I needed to make sure I had a lot of time to take off as we travel overseas.
