Mini Moon Suggestions in USA

I'm looking for good mini-moon suggestions in the United States. Beach, cabin, etc. Doesn't matter, just needing recommendations! FH and I want to save up to be able to take a grand honeymoon in the Caribbean early next year and we also don't have our passports yet, but definitely need a mini vacation after all of this planning. Wedding date is October 1st so it will be the week immediately following so wanting somewhere with at least decent weather. Help!

    In mid October, you should be able to get some gorgeous fall foliage without it being too cold. I'd check out the Poconos or Maine!

    Groupon has deals right now for beautiful cabins in Gatlinburg, TN. The rates are unbeatable. Gatlinburg is the sweetest mountain town too!

    DH and I are just finishing up a 4 day mini moon in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. We got a deal to stay at a resort called Pelican Grand, which is right on the beach.

    Gotta say I would definitely recommend it! It's on the north side of the beach, so it's never crowded. The ocean view rooms are amazing at sunrise. The food in the restaurant on the first floor is pretty good. The drinks are amazing. We didn't use it, but there is a spa on the top floor. And at some point we must have told them this was our honeymoon, because they upgraded our king room to a suite for free and has chocolate covered strawberries and wine waiting for us in the room! It's just been super relaxing Smiley smile
