Military marriage

As far as the name change goes, you can be in any state to do that. All you need is your marriage license. You’ll start by changing it through social security. Once you get that new card, then you can get your new DL.

Your husband will get you enrolled in DEERS - he can go through his unit personnel office for that, they will handle it. Then you will need an appt at the post/base ID card center. In our area, there is a long wait for appts, so they may offer you some IS options like a memorandum or other official correspondence if you need base access, as well as medical care.
Please do make sure to get your ID card! I’ve seem an odd thing on tiktok of all places where spouses are not getting enrolled in DEERS or getting and ID card to prove…something? (They they aren’t in it for the benefits, I guess?) but this is very important to do. If you are not in the system, you don’t exist to them.
