Microblading or not? Wedding 10-12-19

Raye, on September 28, 2018 at 10:55 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 1 13
Hey everyone. Just looking for opinions on permanent make up. I have no eyebrows. I draw them on daily but am tired of the work, and they are never even. I am scared with my nerves on my eedding day my eyebrows will be ymthe death of me. I have been thinking about microblading on my eyebrows for a while now. It is a tattoo type procedure in which they apply ink in the form of follicular strokes (individual hair strokes). So when they are done they look like individual hairs. I have been thinking about this more frequently since getting married. I am afraid of things not working out on the day of. I am unsure if I'll do my own make up at this point. I. Attached photos of before and after the procedure I'm talking about from the place im looking into. You do it, have a follow up weeks later, and then get yearly touch ups. Opinions?

So I have not had it done, but my sister has and she loves them. I think if it relieves some of your stress, go for it!

I have NOT done microblading so I have no idea about the details of the procedure.

I say if it is something you are stressing about... go ahead and spend the money and get your peace of mind. Eyebrows are the LAST thing you want to be worried about at your wedding, and if you draw them in yourself then with the stress of the day you will be worried about them non stop.

Treat yourself, get micro blading and be done and happy with it. Then you can enjoy your wedding and the pictures without any added stress about them being drawn correctly, shaped, even, smudged, etc.

But please do make sure to go to a super reputable place and check out their existing work so you're absolutely happy with the shape they can put on you.

It is certainly an option and fairly common.

I had mine done a year ago and haven't needed a re-touch at all. I didn't have the opportunity to go back to the artist for the 6 week touch-up, but my eyebrows still look great! They should last 18 months-3 years with proper care and upkeep.

One of my bridesmaids has them, she's done it twice and LOVES them. I'd just make sure wherever you go is well reviewed!

    Hello Raye!

I personally have very light eyebrows that have failed to grow in from my years of uneven plucking! I did microblading and it was one of the best things I've ever done for myself! I was very self-conscious about my eyebrows and, similar to you, I was filling them in everyday with an eyebrow pencil.

A couple of things I'd recommend/keep in mind! Take the time to do a lot of research on the place that you're considering having them done! Since it's considered a medical procedure, I think it's important to make sure the place is sterile and very experienced. It's also important to make sure you know any potential side-effects! It looks like the place you are considering has a lot of before/after photos - which is awesome! I also recommend going in for a consultation. During my consultation, they drew a shape on me that I thought was too dramatic for my light features and they were able to manipulate it into my vision. There's also a lot of follow-up with eyebrow microblading. It very much depends on the person, but I was under the impression that you went in every couple of months. Although that can be the case for some people, I ended up going in a week later to touch an area up! It can be kind of pricey to maintain but I felt like it was worth it, for me, in the end!

Another eyebrow enhancing technique, that's not as permanent but is more cost-effective and quicker, is eyebrow tinting! It's basically hair dye for the eyebrows that lasts for 3-4 weeks. It gives you the same kind of look as microblading without being as permanent. If you're interested in eyebrow tinting, I'd recommend trying it out once before you get it done for your wedding! I found that my tinted brows looked best 3-4 days after dying them (just because they can look darker immediately after getting them done). I found that those 3-4 days of a little bit of fading made them look more natural, but that timeline might be different for you!

I'm happy to answer or help you with anymore questions you may have!

At first I thought your wedding date was THIS October and I was like OMG ABSOLUTELY NOT! They would be super dark and still healing. But then I checked and saw that its for next year. If you have the cash to afford a good artist, then yes I would do it. But I would get it done pretty soon so that if you do not like them, they can fade enough by the time your wedding comes around. If you do love them, then you can get them touched up a few months before your big day.

Eh...you need to do your research. My co-worker had it done and they f'ed it up bad. Her eyebrows have an awful chunk shape and they make her whole face look bold I did see someone who did the henna eyebrows and they were gorgeous. I also heard micro never actually goesnaway...it just fades.

I’ve always thought about doing this but I’m too scared! Just because I can’t find a great artist near me to do it and also it’s so expensive. But those examples you posted from the place you’d get yours done at? Those look amazing compared to sooo many I’ve seen! If you have the money to do it and maintain it, I’d say go for it! Eyebrows are important to me so you definitely want them to be perfect day of!

So I actually went to this exact place to have mine done last summer! Small world Smiley smile It is seriously the best thing I've done beauty-wise in recent memory. I have had very sparse, thin eyebrows my whole life. I had to draw mine on as well, and it seriously affected my confidence, plus it always took so much time, and never looked very great. The microblading gave me so much more self confidence and I can go without any eyebrow makeup now, even a year later (I havent had a touch up yet as money is tight with the wedding and it honestly isnt really needed!). If I want a more dramatic look, they're very easy to fill in a little bolder with a pencil, and the shape is already there. Brow Studio is an excellent place to have it done at and I have been nothing but thrilled with my results, even this much later. Definitely, definitely recommend!

Thanks for your input! I grew up with my grandparents and my grandma didnt believe in eyebrow care for young girls so I decided to shave "just a little" well I had no eyebrow after and nothing past the arch ever grew in again. It has effected my self esteem greatly and my fiance and I have even had a serious fight about it....he thinks it's fun y to smear them or wipe them off. I dont want to fear rant. days or swimming pools and just want to wake up with eyebrows on my face. Thanks for your input one more success story from Mileaukee brow. She must be amazing!!!!

My future sister in law got hers done and they turned out great! I just got lash extensions and I'm thrilled! If it makes you feel good and boosts your confidence, I say go for it! I don't know about you but I rarely spend money on myself. I actually feel a little guilty about my lashes BUT FH even said he likes my confidence and wants me to be happy. Bills are paid. Treat 'yo self. The pics you posted of their work look good.

Ive been looking into microblading for quite awhile myself and I soooooooooo want to do it, but decided to wait for a major reason: Microblading takes time to heal. Your eyebrows will scab up after the procedure. They will flake, be red, etc. It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over, and about 1 month for the color to fully set in. As it takes 2 trips to the salon to complete microblading (1st session, 2nd session 6-8 weeks later), I didnt want to risk having healing brows before my wedding. Someday Ill absolutely get it done!
