Hows life after the wedding for some of you?

Well, our situation is a bit odd LOL

We had a destination wedding with friends and family... but our officiant didn't show up! After a brief period of panic, a few of our friends stepped forward and "married" us in our ceremony - but it wasn't legal. So we flew home from our wedding still unmarried. That was last Fall, and we still haven't made it legal LOL My fiance says he feels married, and started wearing his wedding ring right away. I, on the other hand, don't feel married and have not been wearing my ring. In general though, things haven't really changed. But, again, that may be because we aren't technically married (so no legalities, change of insurance, wearing my wedding ring, etc.). I'm curious to see if anything changes/feels different after making it legal this year!

Have you gotten married yet? If so, how have things been for you?

Life after marriage has been great! My husband and I bought a house shortly after our wedding, and so we've been focusing on house projects lately. Our relationship truly doesn't feel much different than before we were married - it feels stronger, and I get to call him my husband instead of boyfriend or fiance, but we still go out on date nights just like we've always done throughout our relationship.

About the same honestly! I think it feels more solid and a little bit closer but for the most part not much changed beyond my name and insurance haha. We did live together beforehand for about a year and a half so that might make a difference there too. But it's been a lot of house projects and planning our delayed honeymoon/anniversary trip and looking forward to the future.

I love being married. We said I do 4.5 years ago. I felt a change immediately after. It just felt more secure and the was just a change around us. We’d been together 4 years when we got married and lived together just about all of it.
We’ve dealt with a lot these last 4.5 years, but I love that my husband is a partner and we work through life together. I don’t have to face any problem alone. He’s had my back always and I have his.
Is it always sunshine and rainbows? Absolutely no. Are there times we don’t even like each other? 100% but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
