Marriage License Errors

Sooooo....prepping stuff to go to the social security office tomorrow to start the whole name change thing and I just noticed on the certified copy, they spelled one of the witnesses names wrong. Is this a problem? Their signature isnt shown on the actual copy, it just says "signature on file".
My husband's and my info is all correct though.
It isnt something I can just pop over to the courthouse and have them change. We got married in DE, live in IL, and our witnesses live in GA and NE. -_-
I don't want to drag this out for forever but I'm now seriously anxious! Help!!!

I think you should be ok, but I don't work in the courts system. The only way is to take it up there & see. Hopefully everything will work out for you! I'm sure you're not the first person to have that, so hopefully it'll be a smooth & painless solution!

You'll be fine. My officiant wrote the incorrect date and it all went fine with an extra visit to the offices.

I really hope this doesn't cause you any issues, Chandra!
As Mcellist mentioned, the only way to know is to take it up there and see.

I didn't let them know about the typo. But I got my name changed no problem! My mom said she sees typos on marriage licenses all the time in her family history work.
