Marriage License Appointment

Biaani, on April 1, 2021 at 3:30 PM Posted in New York Planning 2 12
Don’t know if this is the case everywhere, I’m in NYC. We went online to get our marriage license which we thought would be easier than how it was before covid because well it’s online. Turns out it’s hard to get an appointment because there’s limited time slots. I did this last night and the soonest I was able to get was April 24. I suggest you try getting yours as soon as you reach your 60 day mark because you don’t know when there will be an appointment available.

Oh wow! Thank you so much for posting this. NYC bride here and was going to wait till mid April to start the process but now I will definitely start the second we hit 60 days next Tuesday. I can’t believe you have to wait so long to see a clerk😳 I’m so nervous now.

I know I wish someone would’ve posted sooner. It’s an easy process. The only thing is getting this appointment.

I found out the hard way to I had to google it and they told me on Twitter that they release the appointment on Thursday mornings at 9am . I had to go on in feb for a March appt. because u have to go on around a month ahead of time to get the appointment u want . I’m getting married April 17th and I had to go on in February for a March appointment because ur license is only good for 60 days but when u fill out the application they don’t tell u that smh

Are you able to fill out the application before you’re 60 days out?

Yes you can fill out the application and pay the fee before the 60 days. that's what I wish I knew. Just make sure your actual appointment with the clerk is within the 60 days.

Thanks for the tip! I'm saving this to remind myself when the 60 day mark comes!

Heads up for NYC brides, bee times and dates for May have just gone up. I was finally able to snag a spot after doing my application April 7 and seeing no available appointments for the rest of the month. Had to repay and do a second application to get a May date since applications are only good for 21 days. If your wedding is 60 days out from May 3-7 go apply now and get a spot!

Hello Lynn, this was really helpful. I am debating whether to do a virtual appointment or in person and I was just curious what questions they ask during the virtual and how they verify you’re in the state? Thanks in advance!
