Get a shellac French manicure

Second on getting shellac, probably a day or two before the wedding. You'll want to grow your nails out for a French though so you have a tip.

Gel polish! French or a nude tone would work great!

Gel polish! It lasts nicely (about a week on me, which is a miracle. My nails chip like no tomorrow) and it always looks super shiny and put together. Personally, I love a classic French manicure for a bride.

Gel is wonderful and doesn't harm the nail.

If you want to add a pop of color do a French tip with a fine line of your wedding color. I did it for my sister's wedding and it looked fantastic.

Like PPs recommended get a gel/no chip manicure. It will last about two weeks. I'm a former nail biter and no chip manicures helped me get out of the habit.

Gel. I do them about once a month.

I hate having my nails painted. I am also a nail biter and I went two weeks ago to get my nails done and they talked me into the gel polish. I could not believe it lasted two weeks with no chips and looked adorable so I was able to keep from messing them up. This may be a new thing for me. I would give it a try

If you are going OOT get them done just before you go. If you get gel nails they will last properly for two weeks and start to grow out after that. I have stretched it to a month but they were growing out by then. Like others have said if you want a French tip you will have to let your nails grow. I too am a nail biter. I managed to grow them for my wedding but have no nails again!!! If you can't manage to stop biting them think of a plain natural colour that would also look classsy.

I'd be sure to get gel nails. They hold up much better to bumping and chilling, so you could get them done before going out of town.

I second the posters above that said you'd wanna grow your nails out a little before hand for the French. To help, try buying a nail polish bottle of clear polish that helps your nails grow faster (I think Sally Hanson makes one, you can get it at target, Walmart). It'll help them grow and the clear polish will deter you from biting your nails. However, with only a week left til your wedding, it might be nice to just pick a pale pink. Less to worry about before next weekend!

The first time I ever got my nails done was for my wedding, too. I got a nude/pale pink gel color.

Since then I've been going regularly to get them done with my MIL. I also recommend the SNS powder method. Lasts even better than gel.

Get the dip powder. It's amazing!
