Maldives

Hi Alyssa!! I would LOVE to go to the Maldives! I think it would be an awesome place for a honeymoon and I know quite a few end up going there. Would you be interested in staying in a bungalow over the water? Because I hear those are very popular among travelers there.

We’re heading to the Maldives for our honeymoon and found the prices to be really great for flights in comparison to Fiji and French Polynesia; highly recommend checking out Momondo for flights and there are a lot of options that are full-board and/or all-inclusive which we were really excited about. I thought it’d be a lot more expensive but were able to find flights for $800/person which we felt like was reasonable. There’s also an old thread on the Maldives in here somewhere that had some recommended places to stay - i think most stayed at Meeru Island Resort and it seems pretty good from reviews so I think we may be checking that one out if we don’t find a sale on some other place. Also looks like flight prices drop in September through December if you’re looking to go this year!

The Maldives is beautiful!! We plan on going again for our honeymoon! We stayed at Meeru in an over the water bungalow during June-July.

This looks INCREDIBLE and you recommend Meeru - that's so helfpul to hear! How long do you recommend staying? We booked about 10-12 days with at least 1 full day of travel each way so about 9-10 days in the Maldives.

The Maldives is where we are wanting to go. We talked about it last night and the biggest issue is when we want to go it is monsoon season and now FH isn't so sold on the idea. Has anyone gone in October before? Or should we wait to go until Jan-Mar? We don't want to wait too long after we get married to go but we also don't want to wash away.
