Lowkey low budget wedding

Hi!

I am recently engaged and having a hard time finding a place to get married on a low budget. We are trying to spend less than 5k on everything- food, venue, etc. Neither my fiancé nor I drink nor are big party people so we were thinking about having a brunch wedding to cut down on overall food and alcohol costs. We were thinking we could have mimosa bar and have a photo station or something so guests can still have fun, but nothing too crazy.

However, I am having such a hard time finding places that we can have the ceremony and reception in one place that won't be super expensive. I know brunch will cut down costs, but I was wondering if anyone had an ideas for where we could hold the ceremony and reception and it wont eat our entire budget? We will probably have about 40 people- 50 tops. We are in Richmond, VA and the plan is to get married August or September 2022.

Try Splacer, Eventcentive, and Peerspace for venues. Thumbtack app for vendors and try Italian or Mexican for Buffet options. They are typically pretty cheap.

Have you tried looking at your local parks and recreation..they usually have community center where you can rent out for reception and can have ceremony outside or maybe inside as well. I found a local VFW hall that allows me use of building all weekend for a great price and I can decorate how I want..its saving me lots of money.

I would try a park, VFW, or a hotel ballroom

What about a park, firehall, backyard. We spent probably around 5k for ours. We did everything ourselves, had a smaller guest list, and had it at a conservation club. It was a lot of work for us but totally worth it.
