Losing weight

Jessica, on December 19, 2021 at 1:34 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 3 13
I got engaged back in December Of 2020. We are getting married August 2022. I had been unhappy about my weight for a long time as I had never in my life been over 130 pounds. This passed June I finally decided to really put in an effort and commit to losing weight. Back in June before I started this journey I was 198 pounds. Here we are now in December and I’m currently at 160 pounds. The dress I bought is now going to have to be taken in quite a bit. Not only do I feel physically better but I feel better about myself!
To anyone struggling with their weight in this group stay focused, push yourself and you will get to we’re you want to be !!!! Losing weight 1

Yes!! You look awesome! Got engaged in October, booked venue for Feb 2023, and tried on dresses on Halloween. Let’s just say I was very depressed. Nov 1 I started 16:8 fasting. I’ve lost 6.5 pounds since then, ( I weigh myself every day and it’s steady .) slow but totally doable for me. Ordered my dress yesterday in the size I tried on , which was a bit snug, but come heck or high water I WILL lose another 20. So fingers crossed I will be where I want to be in Kine when the dress comes in! If not I still have another & months before the wedding . Love seeing a success story like yours!

As a question, what did you do (for example, did you calorie restrict or do keto or some other diet; what type of exercise were you doing, etc.). I ask because H and I have (each) put on 40+ pounds since March 2020, and we want to work on it - since we're both feeling pretty yucky at our current weights.

I do intermittent fasting. I cut out all surgar…No soda, candy, sweets nothing. Plus I also cut out breads, pasta, rice. I watch my calories and carbs very closely. Plus I drink tons of water and I don’t eat anything past 6:00pm!

Also for exercise I work in a super fast paced doctors office so I’m always power walking around the office lol I also following along with some home work outs on YouTube and occasionally go to the gym when I have time. We have 6 children so I’m always up on my feet doing something. I started losing weight though with out even having to exercise!

Oh wow I’m pretty hungry by noon; not sure if I could last that long! I’m sure I could lose more if I actually counted calories and exercised a bit more. I still eat what I want between 12-8 which what makes me able to stick to it. And I live by Disney and go to the parks a lot so that walking helps. But I need to amp up the exercise, especially strength training.

Whoa! Congratulations! That is an AMAZING accomplishment! I made a change in October and am down 10 pounds. I’ve steadily lost a pound a week - I’ve 100% changed my eating habits. No processed foods, straight nutrient rich, low fat foods. I’m working with a nutritionist and we just switched me to maintenance mode as my dress didn’t need alterations, but looking at my last round of pictures I think that will change now. One of those yay! Oh no things. Lol

Congrats - great accomplishment! I ordered my dress at around 200 pounds - I am now 190 and hope to get to 175. I am doing lots of the same - intermittent fasting and tracking cals and carbs. Thanks for the motivation to keep on going!

I am just starting my diet and working out. Seeing these results is inspiring me to step it up a notch. My date is 8/20/2022 so hoping next week to be able to start cutting out sweet tea, candy, and grains.
