Looking for outdoor venue/options under 2500 around colorado

April, on June 29, 2022 at 12:31 PM Posted in Colorado Planning 0 4
Hi there,

We are looking to have our ceremony at night time as 6/21/24 is the summer solstice and full moon. We are inviting 60 people, Very close family and friends along with their children. We want to make this as much DIY as possible and completely our own ( food, music, cake). We're not traditional by any means and I have found myself so frustrated with the cost of everything I have come across. We're a lowkey type of couple, not looking for the frills and stress but just good vibes and fun with our loved ones
We are looking for a place that would be private and secluded as the party will continue long into the night, trying to be aware of disturbing other people. We would need a giant tent to accomodate tables and food in case of inclimate weather, would like to have fairy lights and lanterns around the premises as well as being able to have a fire with smores bar.
90% of our guests would be coming from out of town so we would need to be decently close to hotels and maybe have the option for camping for those who would be interested.
It's just my fiance and I out here and don't know anyone with property or a backyard we could use so here I am trying to figure something out. Any suggestions welcome, thank you! 😊

Hi April! I'd start by looking at Parks & Rec sites that you can rent for events where you could rent a tent to bring in!! That might fit your wish list best!

Also here are a few venues that are worth checking out:

    The Crestwood (Snowmass Village)

    Sage View Ranch (Paonia)

Once Upon a Time Events (Kiowa)

Stone Mountain Lodge & Cabins (Lyons)

Antler Ridge Weddings and Events (Montrose)

    Hi Lynne

Thank you for your response. I think logistically, it might be better to do split gatherings, a more formal one for family and then a low-key gathering with friends. My fiance liked this idea as well.
I found myself way too overwhelmed and defeated looking at pricing. We wouldn't have any financial help towards anything. The logistics of finding a good set up with hotels near by and easy for everyone to get around since they all will be traveling from out of state. It's a lot to ask to come in the first place, and I don't want to add to anyone's plate.
I feel this way we can spend more quality time with people as well.

I agree with the other commenter that you should look at parks & rec. You can try also Garden of the Gods, but unsure about how long the park is open.

I don’t know if you still are looking but state owned things are probably your best bet, sometimes the event rental isn’t taxed the way other venues are (like our venue). Colorado (especially after covid) is pretty expensive so I wish you luck!
