Long sleeve alterations?

My Commitment Ceremony is going to be 6/7/26 and this is a dress I'm really considering. All my bridesmaids and MOH love it. Can I get the seamstress to alter the sleeves so they stay the same length, but have less fabric? Long sleeve alterations? 1

Maybe seams on the sleeves can be opened up -- only connecting every 6 inches to keep the sleeves on. You also have a couple summers to see if the illusion sleeves are okay, but you would be delaying getting the dress until then -- but you may want to wait until closer to your event before getting the dress.
