Long Island marriage license help!

Christina, on October 10, 2021 at 1:50 PM Posted in New York Planning 0 1
Hi all, getting married 12/11/21! Finally getting close after postponing twice due to covid. When should we get our marriage license and where can we get it?! I’ve been searching online and one place says you can do it 60 days out from the wedding online and everyone says go to county office. What do I do?!

Hi Christina! You and your fiancé will need to go to a town or city clerk's office together to apply for your marriage license. New York marriage licenses are valid for 60 days - so I'd apply as early as possible!

You'll also need to check with the local clerk's office to see their status (are they open for walk-ins? are they doing applications online? do you need to schedule an appointment? etc.) - some offices have virtual services or reduced hours still due to covid!
