London and Paris Honeymoon

Natashamarie08, on August 23, 2019 at 2:24 PM Posted in Honeymoon 1 15
My FH and I really want to go to London and Paris for our honeymoon. We’re getting married 2/22/20 and delaying the honeymoon until June! It’s also my 30th birthday, a two for one trip. I found this website called tripmasters, has anyone heard of or used this website? Or have any other suggestions for travel sites that include everything from flights to daily activities. I know it won’t be super cheap but we’re trying to keep it as low as possible.

I've never heard of that one but you can also look into tripadvisor and travelzoo. Good luck on your search!

Sounds good. If it's cheaper for you, I hope they're legit too.

That's insane, my fiance and I were going to do a London and Paris honeymoon too! We decided to do just London for our honeymoon and go to Paris for a different trip. I think the best way to save is to take advantage of the free museums and activities to do in each place! Oh and compare train prices and car rental prices. I think the most expensive thing are flights so make sure to keep an eye on the airline prices and try to snag a good deal. Oh I love this post, I feel like I looked into the trip so much!

Hey, I live in the UK so just thought I’d share a couple of thoughts to help you out!

In the UK museums and galleries are free to enter, you only need to pay if you wish to enter a special, limited time exhibition. If all you want to do is wander around the permanent exhibitions in the British Museum, V&A, Tate Modern etc, and don’t have any specific pay for exhibitions in mind, you don’t need to pay a penny. So beware of all inclusive passes which might seem like a good deal to get you in lots of places but you might not actually need for a lot of them.

Hotels in London are pricey. Beware of cheaper hotels which state they are in London - always check the actual location in relation to the centre of London. It’s a huge city and you could be in for a hour of travelling into the centre from the wrong hotel. That’s not to say you shouldn’t look at hotels out with central London, if they are well connected on the Tube and you don’t mind a little travel at the start and end of your day they can be a great way to do it.

How do you plan to get from London to Paris? The cheapest way would probably be a budget flight from somewhere like London Stansted. The Eurostar train is easy but pricey in comparison.

    Hi,
I used the site before to book and so have my friend we had no issues. They generally have the packages a couple of dollars cheaper. No issues to date.
    Others to try bookit.com, Cheaptickets.com
if you want to do a payment plan and willing to change locations cheapcarribean and bookit for payment plans.

I have not heard of or used that website.

But, the great thing about London and Paris is that they are such huge cities so you can travel there on a wide variety of budgets! Do a little research on the different neighborhoods in each city and then decide where you’d like to stay. If you’re open to it, take a look at Airbnb’s. If you prefer hotels, be open to non-American-chain properties where you might find a better value for your dollar and in a better location.
http://www.walks.com/ has a lot of interesting walking tours in London which are really pretty affordable.
In both London and Paris, if you’d like to splurge on a higher end restaurant, consider going at lunch. The quality is the same and you’ll still get a generous portion of food, yet the price may be half or $100 less than dinnertime.
We subscribe to Scott’s cheap flights for email alerts to snag discounted airfare. If you’ve got some time until you book and are flexible with you dates, you may be able to find an inexpensive flight.

OMG! Thank you for all the tips! I was looking at The Belgrave hotel, can’t remember exact location now so I’ll for sure see where it’s located in relation to everything else. I will also cross reference any tours we book through this site to make sure I am getting the best deal, I for sure don’t want to pay for a tour if its free! As of right now we’re planning to travel by train to Paris. It’s included in our package through this website I found and was cheaper than a flight. I thought maybe it would be quicker too since we wouldn’t have to deal with an airport, but I could be totally wrong.

Good to know! I think we’re pretty set on this location. It was my FHs idea to wait this long so we could be in Paris on my 30th birthday. But I will look into those other two sites and see if I find cheaper flights and accommodations.

Yeah I think the only splurge meal we might have is on my birthday in Paris. Other than that we’ll probably try to keep it on the cheaper end.

Download the app called Hopper! You put in the dates you’re interested in going and tracks the best time to buy plane tickets!! You can also track hotel prices. I’m currently using it to track flights to Rome. My coworker told me about it and he used it for their honeymoon as well.

The train may work out ok price wise as part of a package so def worth looking at both options. Time wise it probably depends where in London you end up staying. The Eurostar leaves from St Pancras which is literally attached to Kings Cross, so very central and if you’re staying nearby would cut out all the journey time to an airport, but you do still have to go through security and passport control. It’s not as busy as an an airport though. Pros & Cons!

I hope you work it all out and have a fab honeymoon. Both cities are fabulous 😊

I think right now the hotel we’re looking at is called The Belgrave. Not sure where that is in comparison to Eurostar or an airport. Or even to the city center. I guess it’s worth looking up and creating different itineraries with different options.

Just checked it out it’s right in central London so if the train is ok for you cost wise it would be the better option. Eurostar takes you into the heart of Paris so there’s no commute at the other end if you plan to stay centrally in Paris too 😊

Perfect so not to far to travel into the city every day. In Paris, we’re spending a bit more to stay near the Eiffel Tower.

Thank you you for all your advice and help! Please share anymore tips/tricks you may have. 😍☺️
