Lipstick Recommendations?

I love Colourpop and Nyx liquid lip colors! They are super easy to apply, feel great on your lips, long-lasting and don’t transfer. And they have a beautiful range of nude colors

Hey there!! I'm usually not a lipstick wearer either and also struggled to pick something for my wedding day. For choice of colors, staying power and opacity... I would recommend MAC classic lipsticks (black bullet tube - Velvet Teddy is my go-to nude). When I wear it, I put on a layer, leave it while I do my face, wipe it off and then put on a final coat. I find that the pigment tends to almost stain my lips if I do it this way.

If you don't mind a natural lip texture (not matte but not glossy) I really love Glossier Generation G lipsticks. They layer well from a slight tint to full on opacity that allows for some choice in how intense you want the color. I have Cake and Leo - I'm a fair/light neutral skin tone and Cake is my absolute go-to,/goes with anything color. Leo is more cool brown and would probably be a great neutral for a darker or tanner skin tone.

If you have Ulta near you, I’d recommend going into the store. They have professionals that can help you get the right brand & shade.

I would ask your makeup artist for recommendations during your trial. Also, many makeup artists provide the bride with a small tube of the lipstick they end up using for touch ups the rest of the day. At least mine did, so I didn't have to purchase my own lipstick!

Are you having a makeup artist? Their products last all day into the next day. Without need for touchups.


If you want to buy your own, the ones I have noticed last longest without drying your lips are Colourpop and ABH. NYX dries mine out immediately.

I recommend vegan cruelty free brand

My favorite company is Besame. They’re a little pricier, but if you purchase their powder and use it over the lipstick, it will stay on really well. It looks really nice with a touch of gloss too. It doesn’t dry my lips out like NYX or Anastasia Beverly Hills or some of the even more pricy stuff I’ve purchased.

The best drugstore lipstick i have ever had and still use almost everyday is Revlon Color Stay Matte brand. They stay all day... i sometimes need makeup remove to get it off at night.
