Las Vegas Honeymoon

Vegas is our favorite place to go for a weekend getaway! It's only as crazy as you make it. Just went last month for my fiance's 40th bday with 2 other couples. Had a nice dinner, gambled a little, went to some lounges, listened to live music, saw a show, went to the buffet. If you go in the summer it's really nice to just hang out at the pool (especially if you stay at a hotel that offers a private pool for 21+ so people who bring their kids aren't annoying you). I don't really know anyone who can do more than like 3 nights there before getting burnt out though. There's just a lot of smoke & noise & people.

I've gone to Vegas for a week as a trip more than once. There is tons to do and I only felt burnt out because we packed our days with so much. I would highly recommend taking a trip to the Hoover Dam or Grand Canyon. There are a bunch of companies who offer these and they often are half a day or a full day.

I would not do vegas unless all you want to do is party all the time. And if you stay on the strip everything is super expensive and it’s not a very fun place for a honeymoon unless you want the club life. I have lived here for 5 years and I have seen everything here and I would not recommend it. If you did you could take a trip out to California which is about 4 hours to hang out at the ocean to. It’s about $15 a drink and any spa on the strip is a couple hundred for a massage or anything like that

I would not go to Vegas for a honeymoon. Vegas is saturated by all the cigarette smoke, even the really nice hotels smell awful. Right when you step out room your clothes and hair will feel. I've been to Vegas a few times, and never again.

Vegas is not honeymoon material. It's more of a long weekend getaway type of deal. Your honeymoon is a once in a lifetime experience (unless you get married several times) so I wouldn't settle for Vegas.

I've never gone for a honeymoon but I've been a dozen or so times. I love it there. Some days I just lay by the pool and read or sleep. Other days I go out and do things. There are tons of great restaurants and shows. Plus lots and lots of shopping opportunities.

I LOVE Vegas!! We went for FH 40th birthday and let me tell you we had a blast! You don't have to just stay on the strip and I honestly did not notice all the "cigarette smoke" everyone is speaking of. We went white water rafting one day on the Colorado, the boys jumped out of a plane another while the girls went to a spa, we rode dune buggy's in the desert right in Vegas and enjoyed way too much In and Out burger. There is so much more to do there then the tourist trap things right on the strip fantastic shows, restaurants, piano bars, & other relaxing things all it takes is a little planning. I could go back and stay a week and still not see/do everything I want to.

I’ve been going to Vegas since I was a little girl, so I know there’s more to Vegas than the club life. My fiancé and I are probably going to go there- as he has never been and I haven’t gone in 3 years- and im excited. We are going for 3 days and probably just walking through hotels, seeing a show and just looking at all the beauty and Vegas holds!

I love Vegas, and am going for my bachelorette party, but I wouldn't consider it a great place to honeymoon unless you're really into partying, gambling, or just seeing shows. It can also get very expensive very quickly.

Would you guys stay on the strip? Or would you go off and explore areas outside of Vegas?

Heck yes, honeymoon in Vegas! My fiancé and I have had a few romantic trips to Vegas, which is totally doable. My first suggestion is to stay at a swankier hotel that doesn't cater to the freshly turned 21 crowd, one that has a legit restaurant game as well as killer in room dining, plush guest rooms, and a reputable spa. Three hotels that we stay at regularly that would be great for a honeymoon are:

1) Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. This resort is our favorite. The rooms are very plush, plus they are the only hotel on the strip that has balconies on almost every room. Their restaurant game is STRONG, with some of the highest rated eats in the city. It's also in the center of the strip so you'll have easy access to other casinos, shows, clubs, etc.

2) Aria. This casino resort definitely caters to the slightly older crowd (30+). It's much quieter than most resorts on the strip, but still is just as fun. They have a newer nightclub, great shows, delicious and romantic restaurants, and are attached to the amazing Crystals shopping center.

3) Vdara. Although not directly on the strip, this resort has no casino (so no noise, no cigarette smoke) and you have easy access to the strip with direct tram access to Aria & Monte Carlo as well as a short pedestrian bridge that connects this resort to Bellagio. Every room has a full-sized kitchen with dining table, so you're able to save on food and alcohol by purchasing things off-strip.

Although the nightclub game is strong in Vegas (I highly recommend LIGHT in Mandalay Bay, Tao in the Venetian, and Omnia in Caesar's Palace) and of course the gambling is infectiously fun, there are so many "romantic" and unique things to do in Vegas. Here are some suggestions...

1) See some secret art in Louis Vuitton. If you contact the Louis Vuitton located in the Crystals Shopping Plaza, you can book a private and completely free tour of their personal James Turrell exhibit "Akhob", which is an amazing experience. Before being taken into the Akhob exhibit, a private tour guide will take you around the multi-level Louis Vuitton, pointing out other various works of art, some of which are located in areas of the store not open to the general public. This tour took us a total of about 1.5 hours and was really incredible... in fact, we're going to tour it a second time during our next trip to Vegas.

2) Take a tour at the Neon Museum. Seeing old signs that used to line the strip & downtown is pretty cool. Going on the "sunset" tour is best for capturing amazing photos of these historical neon signs.

3) Rent a car for two days and go out to the Hoover Dam one day and go explore/hike Red Rock Canyon the next day.

4) Go see a show! Vegas is known for so many amazing shows, it's a shame not to see at least one. Cirque Du Soleil has some amazing ones (Zarkana, O, and Zumanity being my 3 favorite). Absinthe and Blue Man Group are fun too!

5) Take a helicopter tour... either over the Grand Canyon, or over the Vegas Strip.... or both!

6) Walk hand-in-hand while exploring the Forum Shoppes at Caesar's Palace and the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian & Palazzo.

7) Lastly, enjoy the free attractions along the strip, like the Bellagio Fountains, Volcano at the Mirage, the gondola singers at Venetian, and other various street performers.

Vegas is so much fun. I think a honeymoon there would be incredibly fun and certainly memorable!
