Las Vegas bachelorette.. On a budget?

ENG, on June 26, 2016 at 11:08 AM Posted in Community Conversations 1 11

I'm a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding where the MOH is pretty intent on going to Las Vegas for the bachelorette party.. With trying to save for my own wedding, taking time off work, etc... Are there any activities/bundles you all have tried that might sway her in the direction of saving some money? Everything would have me dropping at least $500 before food and drinks for a weekend!

Vegas tends to be pretty expensive in general. You can stay off strip for a better rate, but the cabs and ubers will add up. There are hotels that are not expensive on the strip. Luxor, Flamingo and Excaliber are on the less expensive side.

You can skip shows, although they are amazing and usually worth it.

There are ways to eat cheap, but drinks are pricey.

It's not cheap by any means, but I love Vegas so when I go I save up.

I hosted a bachelorette party in May for my friend in Vegas. We as a group figured out the budget per girl, from there I was able to contact a couple hotels to get room blocks at discount rates. We ended up staying at TI they were amazing to work with. We had 1 planned "Vegas" night out a pool day and because it's Vegas we found trouble the third night (a bachelor party who ended up buying our group dinner and drinks!)

For the night out I found a company Sin City Parties that has packages for all budgets, they were super easy to work with and very affordable. Because we shared hotel rooms and some girls had airline points we maximized the "free" airfare each girl spent less than $500 for the big items for the weekend.

Probabbbblyyyy not. I mean... I'm just guessing that she's going to want to go to cool restaurants and clubs. They aren't cheap. If you're budget traveling you can eat at places like the Shake Shack, or grab a pizza slice somewhere, but I'm not sure that's going to happen on a bachelorette weekend away. Shows are never that cheap, although I have seen some deals with Buy 1, ge 2nd for $1 at Cirque du Soleil. Everything adds up fast. I think that even if you try to budget, it will still be a good chunk of money spent when you're trying to save.

My friends and I usually plan Vegas for bachelorette parties for the bride. The bride would only be responsible on getting there. Then we take care of the rest...split her share of the room, going out, food, etc.

Contact a promoter to get you in free at the clubs! Sometimes they can even give you free drink tickets! You can also go to Lounges like Koi at Ph. They often have pay $20 and free drinks all night.

Vegas can actually be very cheap for girls. You can pretty much find a promoter for any club if you just hashtag the club's name on Instagram. Most promoters and hosts are willing to give large groups of girls free guest list and bottle service, just tell them you're coming for a bachelorette. Don't let any promoter try to make you pay for bottle service, move on to a different promoter if they do. There's Uber and Lyft in Vegas now so it can be cheaper than calling a cab. Or once you book a room, search for the clubs/things to do nearby so that walking is doable. There are also free tram services between certain hotels. There are deals for shows on Groupon/Living Social. There's an Aussie Hunks male revue show that's pretty good and it's $45/pp, cheaper than Chippendales and Thunder. I did Vegas for my bachelorette and planned my friend's, it's definitely doable on a budget!

    ^good tip!

I actually found out it's the bride that has her heart set on Vegas & the shows.. Not the MOH. Time to break out the etiquette book for her.

If you're doing any "pre-partying" or drinking not occurring in a restaurant/bar, you can buy the liquor off-strip and bring it with you to the hotel.

Stay at one of the cheaper hotels or book your room on Hotwire. I've gotten amazing deals using Hotwire.

The Linq High Roller has an option where there's a bar inside and you can have drinks while you take in the views. You order the happy hour package and then the drinks are included. That might be a fun activity, and there seems to always be Groupons for it. Groupon runs specials of 20% off local deals pretty often, I'd say usually twice a month or so, so if you wait for that and then buy the tickets, you'd be able to do that activity at a decent price point.

If you want to see a show, go to one of the Tix4Tonight booths to get same-day discounted tickets. You can look online each morning to see what shows offer discounts for the day. It's also a good way to get discounts on other attractions and even some restaurants.

You guys are awesome. I was watching the dollar signs pile up & didn't want to be the bitch to speak up against everyone... Turns out they all feel the same! We're trying to rally up some ideas to keep it cheap & keep the bride happy.

We just went to Vegas for my bachelorette party and the flights were the most expensive part! We definitely went to the liquor store and bought our own booze for the room. We also tried to be budget friendly and didn't pick the most expensive restaurants. We also contacted a promoter and got into a club for free with free bottle service one night.

I echo the hashtag tip! If you do #vegas or something along those lines, usually a promoter will comment. If you don't have any luck with that, just walk down the strip with your group of girls and someone will come up to you. Usually you can get "VIP" if you go in before a certain time (like 10:30pm). Same for day clubs. Ask about free drink tickets too! Don't be shy with the promoters. They can give you a lot if you just ask!

For food, there are options like Chipotle on the strip. Whenever I go to Vegas I like to bring a cooler to put some snacks in. Like others have said, bring your own alcohol. Bring disposable cups too because you can drink in public!
