Lantern Centerpieces

I know I’m 10000% overthinking this. We are doing lantern centerpieces with a few votive candles similar to the photo below. We bought real votives, but I’m really paranoid about using real pillar candles inside the lanterns. I guess because they’ll be burning for several hours and the metal could get very hot. I thought it would be easier to find decent quality flameless candles that would look okay with the real ones, but they all look so orange when lit. I guess I have two questions...

1.) Has anyone used metal lanterns with real candles without any catastrophic injuries like my paranoia is convincing me we will have?
2.) Does anyone have recommendations for real looking flameless candles that don’t cost an arm and a leg?

So I bought and decorated these from family dollar. They are flameless and I don’t like the oranginess, but it seemed like the best and cheapest option 🤷‍♀️

I’ve used metal lanterns with tea light candles at home for hours with no problem.
Regarding real flameless candles, I got some really nice ones at Big Lots before.

They look great! I wouldn't be so concerned about the oranginess if they weren't going to be right next to real candles. The difference is super obvious.

100candles.com is a great resource for flameless candles with a bulk discount. My friend who is an event planner uses this site for all her events.

We used to have a lantern on the patio and would have that candle burning. The lantern would get warm, but i wouldn't try to move it while it was. I think your real candles will be fine. Maybe use a slighly smaller candle, that would help, too.

Try it out at home with a real candle first? I highly doubt anyone will touch the lanterns unless the table is really small.

I bought my lanterns from hobby lobby and the description specifically says for use with led candles only. Unless it's a very large and tall lantern led candles is the best way to go.. Depending on how many centerpieces you have amazon has some bulk packs and then check into home depot or walmart. I only returned the ones from amazon because they weren't tall enough for my big ceremony lanterns.
