Keeping natural nails healthy. Secrets?

Are you planning on getting them done for your wedding?
If you're wanting to stay natural I'd say keep them short until you're closer to your wedding date and keep on the biotin.
If you're wanting them done what I do to keep nails (I worked in law enforcement so trying to keep a decent nail was difficult) from breaking or chipping in an active lifestyle was put shellac on them. I'd usually just go french tip. Shellac doesn't damage my nails and protects them vs when I got acrylics it really tore them up.

My nails usually grow pretty fast and strong, but I find that when I paint them frequently they start to flake, so it's best for me to keep them natural. I also take a biotin supplement for hair and nails, and when I ran out and stopped for two weeks I definitely saw a difference so I'd keep up that supplement. My mom has also instilled in me as long as I remember to never cut my nails with clippers and instead to file them because it's supposed to be better for them. My best friend also swears eating lots of gelatin helps, her nails tend to be thin and bend easily, but eating lots of jello seems to make them stronger. I think keeping them natural and just maintaining shaping and length by filing is probably going to be your best bet at having them look the way you want on your day!

Agreed with the ladies.. Keep your nails short until like 1-2 weeks before your wedding. ♥

My whole life I had flimsy/easily breakable type of nails.. But since I've been taking the hair, skin, & nails already for a month.. My nails are so hard now & they grow out faster & are so healthy! I'd definitely recommend to take these tablets unless you are allergic to any of the ingredients. Hope this helps! 💕

I used the nature's bounty gummies for hair and nails for a whole and it was pretty good. I learned my accident that grapeseed oil works on my nails after using it for my hair for a couple of months. I also keep my cuticles moisturized at all times.

I always had issues with my nails breaking and peeling (they're very thin and dry) but I saw nail artists on YouTube and Instagram raving about this nail oil and I'm so glad I tried it. For reference I added a picture of my nails (taken a few years apart). I also started keeping mine polished 24/7 for extra protection. Good luck!

I swear by regular SNS manicures. I used to use gel but it would make my nails really thin and they would split on the sides. Since I switched to SNS 2 years ago, I’ve not had a single one break, chip, split, or flake. My nails are so strong and long that the first thing every nail technician does is flip my hand over to look underneath to see if they are real or acrylics.

Omg no I got that powder dip manicure and I spent over an hour trying to soak it off last night and I still have more to go. My coworker told me she brushes garlic juice on her nail and then a topcoat. No idea if this works lol. I do plan on getting this demon powder dip manicure for the wedding but never again after that lol!

But I started reading nail blogs and then got into nail art as a hobby and now swear anyone can have good nails. Nail oil, glass files, and keeping them polished 24/7 is what I swear by!

So I do the dip manicures, and if they are done right they don't effect you nails at all. I also see this product called The Perfect Formuka sold on QVC with great reviews.

View Quoted Comment If you salon is doing dip correctly, it should not hurt your nail. When I'm switching colors there is never any damage to my nails at all. It is something that should be removed professionally though.
