Just a vent.

Traci, on October 19, 2019 at 5:02 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 22
I rather put this vent here instead of Facebook to start a fight. I am venting to feel better.

This comment has been flying around since we picked our date.

Backstory-
My Fiancee and I met in July 2016. We hit it off right away. We started dating on Halloween. (Total coincidence)
In August 2017 he popped the question! I said YES!
We chose the wedding date to be Halloween of 2021 because it has a deep meaning to us.
Our family has a tradition of getting married on their anniversary. So we wanted to do it.

Well. My biological brothers shamed me all over Facebook and Instagram, turned some of my family against me, and harrassed me with bible reading so much to the point of me having a mental breakdown and blockong them and throwing them out of the wedding.
I am religious, I am Episcopalian.
We believe Halloween is "All Hallows Eve"

We are not doing a spooky theme, just Purple, Lavender, and Silver. The kid's table will be Halloween themed so they dont feel left out.

Today (10/19/2019)
A person recieved our Save The Date and her reaction as follows.

''You're getting married on Halloween?!"

Me- "yes"

"People wont show up. They will think that is a joke! It's like having a wedding on Christmas."

My vent concludes to this. If you don't like my wedding date. Don't go. Simple as that. Dont make it harder for the couple.

Am I right?!?!?!?!

Just a vent. 1

Ha ha ha, that meme! Way to go to vent here and not there.

Personally, I'd love to go to a wedding on Halloween!!! It seems festive. Parents of young kids might be very disappointed, or might not go though.

Actually that person would be so surprised to find out how many people get married on Christmas 😂. You just keep on doing your thing and don’t let it bother you ☺️

It'll all workout.! Everyone complained because we chose leap day. "Oh why would you pick a day that comes every 4 years?" Like we plan on celebrating our anniversary with them or something 🤷🏾‍♀️. You sent the save the date and the one's who will celebrate with you will show up. Just remember the day is about you and your FH and no one else! A wedding is just one day, but the marriage is a lifetime. Dont let anyone stress you out. So, far it sounds like your day will be fun and festive.

That is ridiculous that they gave you such negativity. If it's your Anniversary then it has special meaning behind it. They should understand that. Your not asking them to wear costumes or anything. We are getting married on our Anniversary on October 24th 2020. We love spooky stuff and most of our friends and family expected us to pick Halloween. It's your day and if that ls what you chose and it has meaning for the two of you that's enough. Your family should be supportive.

We are getting married Easter weekend and got a lot of comments too. Our response was “we’re getting married whether you come or not”. Girl, don’t sweat it-it’s about you not other people. I think it sounds like a blast!

Do whatever you want! I think Halloween weddings are awesome. If anyone doesn't show up because of the date, they're not worth the plate.

If they don’t want to come, consider it to be a favor. You don’t want to be surrounded by negativity on your big day.

I was just talking about doing a Halloween wedding last night. I was talking to one of,my best friends about how I was questioning my music choices to walk down the isle to, again, and he suggested Marilyn Manson "I put a spell on you". I told him that if I was getting married on Halloween I would rock that sh!!t lol you wedding colors sound beautiful and I know quite a few people married on Halloween. We wanted to get married on our anniversary but we weren't able to so we got as close as possible.
Ignore the rude ones, you were smart to block people who harassed you. Your wedding will be amazing
