June 20 20 postpone?

Amanda, on April 11, 2020 at 2:45 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 10
We’re supposed to get married on June 20th, and it’s expected CT will hit its covid19 peak in the next couple weeks so I’m hoping for the best?
I’ve seen a lot of posts about people having out of town guests so they postpone, but the majority of our guests are local ( I can count the number of guest traveling from out of state on one hand). So I guess I’m asking if I should plan on postponing or hold out until at least may to decide?

Our date is June 19th. We’re located in Indiana and the peak should be happening in the next 10 days. I’m in your boat - VERY little out of town guests. I think we have maybe 10 people coming from out of town. We haven’t postponed and don’t plan on making a final decision until May 4th, 6 weeks before the wedding. We called our venue about a backup date, though. I would suggest that!

I was June 27th and postponed to December 12, 2020. Our wedding was NOT local and non of our guests were local, it was/is basically a domestic destination wedding. If your wedding is smallish and mostly local, I would wait and see a couple more weeks and see what happens. We just knew with our 150+ person event not being local it was better to postpone.

Hi I'm also in CT, I'm a part of new haven county so were in the thick of it now. We have postponed our may 9th wedding already and moved it to august 30th with the plan to still elope on may 9th. It's looking like june should be on the down ward trend here, however you may still be limited on guest that can attend until early july, is what I'm guessing. Considering were on lock down until may 20th now. Personally I would call your venue of they are open and ask them if they have any open dates later this year and book a back up date. That's what we did in March and I'm so glad we did! CT is gunna be as bad as New York and were only just getting to peak. Hopefully everyone can follow orders and stay inside :/ good luck! And stay safe at all costs. This virus is nasty.

Yeah we’re New London county on the RI border so it’s a little smaller scale here.

Our wedding is supposed to be June 7th, I'm from MA. We also have very very few out of town guests. I've set up a back up date with all my vendors but holding off as long as I can on postponing. All the uncertainty is heartbreaking.

My date is June 20 as well. Almost all of our guests are local. We are not planning on postponing unless we have to/if guests are limited to less than 100 people. We do have a backup date of August 7.

Keep your date!!!!! If everyone is local to you then maybe wait up to 2 weeks before decide if you need to postpone. That's what we're doing and our wedding is May 16....coming up and not looking too promising sadly but we've come to accept it. Our vendors are all on board with waiting too

I am supposed to be getting married on June 27th in CT! Right now our venue is holding a backup date for us. My advice is to definitely start to think about some sort of backup plan, just in case. We won’t be making any final decisions for another few weeks, but I cannot imagine being able to have more than 200 guests attend a wedding when we have been told not to have more than 10. Good luck!!

I would look for a back-up date just in case but would give it 2-3 weeks before making the decision to postpone.

My date is June 6th 2020, i'm being hopeful but i also have a backup plan. I'm getting married in Long Island NY and most of my guests are local as well. I spoke to my venue and i have a soft hold for a date at the end of August just in case the event ban isn't lifted! Good luck! Fingers crossed everything will start getting better soon!
