July 25, 2020 wedding!

Stephanie, on April 12, 2020 at 1:50 PM Posted in Indiana Planning 0 8
July 25th wedding here! Indianapolis. I'm trying not to jump the gun and "over react" however with everything up in the air due to covid 19 and the economy. We are trying to think of a plan B. However we need to send wedding invitations out within the next 2 weeks. It's a weird time in planning. When everything is done except fine details however I'm having a trouble deciding when when to pull the trigger and decide to forsure go with plan B?

I'm July 11th. We're waiting it out and sending invites as planned at the end of the month. Our venue isn't even postponing June and July events at this point. No harm in taking it day by day! Things could change a lot in 3 months!

Hi Stephanie! A lot of July couples are in this "wait and see" camp! I'd recommend making a final decision by the end of May - that gives you plenty of time to notify all of your guests and for them to change their arrangements. In the meantime it never hurts to start the discussion with your venue about what Plan B could look like and see what dates they have available!

And don't forget you're not alone right now! Smiley heart You can connect with other July brides facing the same questions in these discussions:

Wedding July 18th in IL. Definitely on edge and taking it day by day. I am not planning to send invitations now until 4 - 5 weeks out (instead of 6 - 8) as the majority of guests are local and most have already replied via the wedding website. Only 3 couples would need to travel by plane and none of them have purchased tickets yet because of the COVID-19 issues!. So, I'm finding comfort in that. And the hotel room blocks are until the end of June. This gives me all of May and the first 2 weeks in June to see what happens. Staying hopeful and you do the same!!!

Our wedding is July 25th as well. I checked in with our venues and so far they are staying the course. We are also getting invitations ready with hopes that things will gradually get better by then. We have a Plan B in mind but at this point we are thinking of just getting married by our priest with immediate family members on our date anyway and postponing our reception to a later date. Everything feels so up in the air right now!
