Is your birthstone part of your engagement ring?

AQuixoticBride, on January 23, 2019 at 2:49 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 29

A diamond is often a traditional pick for an engagement ring, but if you were born in April it's also your birthstone! Does anyone else have their birthstone (or that of someone important to you) as part of their engagement ring? My ring is an amethyst halo similar to the picture below, which is the birthstone for both me and my husband. I'm personally not big on diamonds and amethyst has always had so much meaning for me, more so now that it means something to both of us. Share a picture to show off your birthstone rings!

No, my birthstone is not nearly as pretty as a diamond.

Nope, I prefer diamonds personally! I've never been a big fan of my birthstone (ruby) so I would have been really disappointed in a ruby engagement ring. I have this weird hang up about things "matching" so there is no way I could wear a ruby ring if I didn't feel like it "matched" my outfit (it's so weird...I know).

Nope. I told FH I wouldnt mind a sapphire at all, but mine's diamond. Not disappointed in it either! I thought about getting a wedding band with some sapphires but I dont think it would look right.

I love sapphire rings! That was my second choice, actually. One of my friends has a wedding band with sapphires and it's just lovely.

My ring is a sapphire. Not my birthstone but I love it! I told him that is what I wanted when I knew he was getting close to going shopping. Sorry the picture is so huge!

Mine has a three stone setting. The center is a diamond, and the two smaller stones are my birthstone, which I LOVE! It's so beautiful and unique!

That sounds like a great way to incorporate it! What's your birthstone?

Mine isn’t. I think June is a pearl, and while I would’ve loved that, I’ve heard they don’t hold up very well.

My birthstone is peridot. And I love green. So it was perfect! FH did a great job picking it out! 😊

I am also amethyst! But I did not have that incorporated into my ring. I’d prefer not anyway and include it in other jewelry!

My ring has aquamarine in it. It’s my birthstone and the month that FH and I started dating and will be married.

Yeah, pearls, while lovely, aren't very hard so there's a lot of risk of damage. But pearls used to be very common in engagement rings!

My birthstone is garnet and I loved the idea of having an engagement ring with some of the stone incorporated in it until he gave me a "promise" ring with garnet as the center stone. I loved the look of it for the promise ring, but I wanted something with more sparkle so we ended up with a diamond for the engagement Smiley smile

No, my birthstone is not pretty to me at all. I prefer the traditional diamond!

My birthstone is part of my ring! My birthstone is aquamarine. I love how unique the aquamarine and rose gold combo of my ring is.
