Is this a funeral song?

Victoria, on December 20, 2022 at 6:48 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 3
So my wedding ceremony will be in church and all the music will be hymns played on piano (with the exception of the bridal entrance song which will be my sister/MOH singing “O Perfect Love”).

I want to have an instrumental version of “Rock of Ages, Cleft for Me” as the processional song… but after googling it it doesn’t seem popular for weddings and mostly used at funerals?
Any thoughts? If you were a guest and that was the processional song would you consider it odd? Would it remind you of a funeral? Thanks!

Having been raised in various churches, I always associated the song with Lent, never funerals. Amazing Grace was always saved for those. Pick what song you connect with. Maybe something with a happy vibe?

His Eye is on the Sparrow? Maybe this is not quite a hymn though.

I will say that we played that song at my grandfather's funeral... if I were a guest, though, I probably would be paying more attention to you, the bride, than the music.
