Is a $50 gift card good enough

Rosilus, on April 9, 2021 at 7:27 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3
Hello all May 15 bride here so excited but at the same token in a huge dilemma. Here it goes we are eloping just the 2 of us and 1 family friend with his sister will be our witnesses. we currently don't have any other support sadly but anyways here's my situation we are eloping at the beach taken some photos there with them and taking additional photos at a botanical garden 40 min away ALONE for another hour. I discussed this with my photographer tonight, and she suggested it's best not to eat in between because God forbid is anything gets spilled on us the additional photos would be ruined. my FH is wearing all white tux and I'm wearing white. Sounds good right the problem is what are my 2 guests gonna do during that time while we are away taking photos? I hope this doesn't sound too tacky but would it be bad or crazy to give them a thank you bag with something nice inside and edible along with a $50 gift card for dinner for them attending because they drove a hour and a half to attend? They already know it's an elopement. I just wanna show gratitude.

Out of curiosity to understand, are you expecting them to go eat on their own while you take pictures? Most witnesses/guests will hang out until you are done with formal photos and waiting for the reception to begin. Will you be feeding them while you have dinner or is the gift card for another occasion?

There is no reception until next year on our 1 year anniversary? This would be for them to eat on their own

Are you taking them out to dinner or spending any time with them post-ceremony on the day of? Because they're taking time out of their day to spend with you. Even with an elopement you should at least have some mini reception meal type thing with your guests.
