Ireland Honeymoon September 2021

We went to Ireland last September and loved it! Our favorite part of the trip was the few days we spent in a town called Lisburn. Its near Belfast, and we stayed in the most picturesque Airbnb that had horse stables on the property.

I wouldn't recommend international travel in 2021.

Assuming international travel is up and running again by then, Ireland will be a great idea! It's one of my favorite countries. For a trip of that length, I would suggest the Dublin-Cork-Galway triangle. It's easy to connect those three cities by bus or train, and each has beautiful countryside nearby. I'd suggest spending only a couple days in Dublin and then getting out into the countryside. Killarney National Park and the Wicklow Mountains (south of Dublin) are beautiful. There are also some prehistoric ring forts within day trip distance from Dublin.

Cork is a gorgeous small city with colorful houses, a lively atmosphere, and beautiful small towns and sights nearby (brightly-colored Kinsale, Cobh--which was the Titanic's last port of call, Blarney Castle--gorgeous castle and grounds, the Ring of Kerry--a gorgeous scenic drive in the countryside).

Between Cork and Galway, if you end up driving, you have the Rock of Cashel, Kenmare, Dingle, and the Ring of Beara (another gorgeous driving loop).

Galway is absolutely amazing, there's live music everywhere and the vibe is just incredible. You're an easy day trip away from the Cliffs of Moher, the Aran Islands, and the Burren, which is a unique lunar-like landscape.

I could go on and on about Ireland. I love it.

Thank you! This was very informative. Galway sounds like a place we will both love. We are very interested in live music. If International travel is not open by the time we need to book then we will postpone till 2022.

Going to the Cliffs of Moher in Galway is a must! Also, the Aran Islands. There are a few castles there. There is a small fishing viallage, outside of Dublin, called Howth. It is a neat spot that has amazing seafood, caught fresh that day!

I’m super jealous! Ireland is on my bucket list of places to go!

As someone who lives in Galway its definitely a must visit in Ireland as a previous poster said there's live musicians all over the streets and it pubs, summer is best for it but we have it all year round typically. Cliffs of Moher is another lovely spot unfortunately they've put up barriers in the last couple of years so its not as scenic but still a lovely spot. One of my favorite touristy things in Ireland is actually Bunratty castle which is close to Limerick they have a old village type set up that is really fun to explore and a place I never get sick of Dublin is nice too but definitely very much a city feel its good for shopping and temple bar area is lovely but wouldn't do more than 2 days there as a holiday

IRELAND IS WONDERFUL. Go as many places as you can! My favorites are: Guinness storehouse in Dublin, Kinsale village, the town of Dingle & the Dingle peninsula in co Kerry —we thought the dingle peninsula was better than the ring of Kerry, blarney castle —you have to kiss the Blarney Stone!, cliffs of moher, Galway, and if you head into Northern Ireland —giant’s causeway is a must see. Ireland is absolutely beautiful and the people are some of the most friendly I’ve ever met. I could name so many more places. Definitely an awesome honeymoon spot!

And yes the Wicklow mountains!!

I stayed in Dublin and booked tours to take us around. TEMPLE bar is a great pub in Dublin- famous for its music.
I also stayed in Galway- great little town with shops and pubs.
You can’t go wrong taking a tour to the Cliffs of Mohr- absolutely beautiful view.I also recommend looking into going to a few castles nearby

My fiancé is part Irish and this is our honey moon destination!

We did this last year! There are so many options! First off- I highly encourage you to rent a car! Having a rental car allowed us the freedom not only to explore and find some of the neatest places but truly take in the vast expansea of the Irish landscape!

Our favourite places were a bit more rural- kenmare, swords and a small town outside of Cobh that had the most delicious stew.

I highly encourage you to see the giants causeway and the carrick-rede-bridge. Both are absolutely stunning and if you have a car you can also hit the dark hedges ( kings landing road if you watch game of thrones)

Other amazing sights to see were Cobh and spike island, Skellig Michael and some of the castles outside of Swords.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have- we spent 2.5 weeks there and still didn’t see everything we wanted to.
