    Hi Caila,

I found another post from an Iowa bride named Alyssa. Her wedding is also scheduled for August: Iowa Brides!!! Concerns About August 29th, 2020 Wedding

The general consensus for August is that couples should continue to monitor the situation and try to make a decision by the end of May. It's basically a waiting game right now. You're definitely not alone. Check out these discussions with other August couples:

Did you make any decisions for your August wedding? Ours is August 15, originally April 18 and we postponed until August. I know the governor just opened wedding venues etc, but I still feel like we don’t have a valid answer if we can have it or not. What are you guys doing?

We’re going ahead with it. She’s opened venues with the same redirections as restaurants, so 50% capacity. The 10 person gathering rule doesn’t apply to receptions. And if our church only wants minimal people, then we will do immediate family and wedding party and have everyone else just go to the reception!! I think she will be making more of an announcement today or tomorrow when her proclamation ends.

Are you having an issue with your venue on the 50% capacity limits? We invited about 200 guests and as of now we have to adhere to the 50% capacity, which is like 125. I’m hoping restrictions will be loosened by August. Do you feel guilty at all still having it? I 100% want the day to open, but don’t want to look selfish in our guests eyes to ask people to gather in a large group. I don’t know how to feel about it!

I think that the restrictions will loosen by then. We don't feel guilty. We think that if people don't feel comfortable, then they won't come and we completely understand & respect they're decision. We don't know when weddings will be 'normal' or if there ever will be. They are talking about another wave or it being seasonal, so not sure when we would even postpone to. We want to take this opportunity to have it while we can.
