Invitations

Ella, on April 18, 2023 at 2:23 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 2 5
I’m about to start making the invitations (I hand made my save the dates) and I was wondering how many people have bought the templates from Etsy for invitations? Is it hard to edit and navigate and print off? Just trying to find the most budget (and time if possible) friendly option for invites!

I didn't for my invitations, but I did for my escort cards and wedding programs. The templates were very easy to work with. You basically just change some wording and then you are good to go. I didn't print them myself however. I had them printed at Office Depot because they have the high tech printers and machines that will cut the paper to the correct size.

I did not use an etsy template but like you also wanted to save time and money. I found a website called Ann's Bridal Bargains Cheap Wedding Invitations with FREE RSVP Cards (annsbridalbargains.com) I found them to have a lot of different styles while also being reasonably priced. Hope this helps!

Neither of us have graphic design skills but we had a good idea of what we liked from browsing invitations online. We loved various designs from Zazzle but hated the font choices. At the same time, we loved styles from high end couture designers but not willing to pay the costs involved. So we browsed sites such as creative market.com for design elements and then took the ideas to a local independent print shop. They were able to put together a full invitation set (main invite, reply card to mail back, details card, and envelopes), that is only available at someplace like annsbridalbargains.com for a fraction of the price of what an invitation from Zazzle or DIY would cost. Neither of those options include the full sets or envelopes. We decided against DIY on our own as well because the cost of time/labor/sanity at minimum wage per hour in addition to cost of supplies didn’t save us any money.

A close friend used Canva and loved it but she is comfortable with basic graphic design.

I did buy a template on Etsy through Bellaboo Printables.

I haven't finalized the look yet (I may put them in a decorative sleeve) but I sent my test to be printed at Office Max and they were perfect.

    Hope this helps!

I bought my template from Etsy. It was very pretty, but it took some reworking to get the dimensions right. I only paid $3 though so I think it was worth it.
