Has anyone had or currently planning a mountain wedding in NC w/o a venue? We’re looking at Grandfather Mountain to avoid having a permit and it’s such a beautiful location as well as easy to get too without our older family members having to hike out to an overlook/scenic spot. Any advice would be appreciated!!

That sounds so beautiful Amanda!!
I'd think through what you'd need to set up for the wedding (chairs, décor, tables, etc.) and how you'll get it there (and take it back!) I'd also consider having someone get to your site early that day to make sure no one else sets up there!
