Inexpensive Westchester, ny reception

Gabrielle, on February 23, 2022 at 2:00 PM Posted in New York Planning 0 5

Hey everyone! Does anyone have any recommendations for inexpensive/affordable venues in Westchester, NY or anywhere within 1 hr or so away from Westchester? Our budget is $5000-$10000 for everything. We are looking to have 125-150 guests and are interested in something simple and preferably outside under a tent with a nice view! Any suggestions would be amazing! ThanksSmiley smile

I'm getting married in Westchester. We looked at a lot of venues. Honestly, I don't think $10k here is doable for anyone, but especially not with that many guests.

Look into parks department owned venues. They are a lot more flexible and much more budget friendly. But you will need to find your own vendors: a local favorite restaurant that provides drop off catering, a photographer and dj found on Instagram.

I'd have to agree with Jasmine. The cost to just rent a tent for that many people could easily eat up half of your budget. I'd consider a micro-wedding or at the very least cutting down the number of guests

I know people who did a backyard wedding in Westchester, for 40 people and I'm pretty sure they spent over $10k. I found my photographer on Instagram and the cheapest packages of anyone I interviewed were $3300 (and that was two years ago, their prices increase every year). There's also fees and taxes to consider. Anyplace with "a nice view" will cost more. I have sympathy for the OP here, she's probably gonna have to have a minimony (like, 20 people or less) or courthouse.

Congrats on your engagement! Unfortunately Westchester weddings are pretty pricey, when you say $10,000 for everything do you mean flowers, photographers, dress, tux, rings, and venue expenses or just for the actual venue food and drink expenses? Westchester has some lovely parks not sure what the permit requirements are for a wedding though, try checking out Mountain Lakes Park in North Salem. Also try the Fairways at Dunwoodie golf course-with 150 guests it would probably be more than your max but maybe not much more. No idea what the cost would be but here are some restaurants that hold events: Red Hat on the River , Shadows on the Hudson, and Nonna Carola, maybe Yonkers Brewery for a more casual vibe. Locust Grove Estates in Poughkeepsie gives 50% off for weddings in December-March. $10000 for a 150 people is going to be hard to find but if you do it offseason and not on a Saturday you may find some good deals. If you are able to travel a little further Sartoga Springs and Albany area have some lovely spots. Good luck to you!
