Inexpensive venues in or near San Antonio?

Ana, on March 29, 2021 at 1:17 AM Posted in Texas Planning 1 3

I feel like I've looked all over & even tried thinking outside the box...I honestly just want simple green grass with some trees not too close to traffic.
I found a venue at someone's house that would be PERFECT literally RIGHT behind my house, I had no idea they were even there. We went to go view it today & unfortunately it's about $1500 over my budget...they didn't tell me the cost beforehand, I just decided to go look since it was just a 2 minute drive from my house & now I wish I didn't look, haha!! They are at least all inclusive, including the cake, with the exception of photographer & DJ, but my fiance is completely against it because it's far too close to my house for him, he wants to be farther out.

& we saw another venue in Canyon Lake for $1500 flat that includes a lot of things including the night stay in a cabin & we'd still be taking care of all the other vendors we would need which isn't bad, I think just after seeing my ideal venue, I'm a little bummed but I think it would definitely still work just fine, I just wish I didn't go look at the other one before knowing the price lol.

I suppose I was just curious if anyone happens to know of any other forest/wooded area look type venues that are closer to $2k or less? We've looked at a few parks, realizing we would have to rent our own chairs & tables & everything. Overall budget is about $5k but that's not including my dress...I've had my dress for a few yrs now so I'm not really considering that cost. I also will be doing a lot of DIY, won't be having a DJ I think, & recruiting some church help for a couple things here & there if need be. Is there any way of finding people willing to rent out their yard if they have a semi decent amount of land?
Again...trying to think outside the box! Smiley smile

Go on eventectivr.com and look at venues allowing you to being your own catering. Or go to the parks department website and look up event rentals.

Most venue rentals at the parks department will have tables and chairs available.

Try WeddingSopt.com or peerspace.com they tend to have small businesses and private venues listed for lower prices.

Hi Ana! I'd definitely look at the San Antonio Parks & Rec website to see if there are any public park spaces you can rent!

Here are a few more venues you should reach out to for current pricing: Isabel's Garden at Studio C, Canyon Lake Cabins and Cottages, Gruene Estate (I think it's $2,000 and up but it's beautiful), Inn on the Riverwalk, The Gardens at Old Town Helotes, The Guenther House, and The Gardens at West Green (also a little above your budget).
