You're going to need to nail down vendors ASAP if you want to get married in 5 months. With all of the postponements from the past two years many places are booked full for a while. Non-traditional venues include museums, aquariums, the zoo, etc.

I am puzzled by the statement that you're getting married in DC and then again on your honeymoon? You can only get married once without a divorce or annulment.

One large family wedding which was my parents idea and another with just us in the DR, our first vacation spot where we realized there was no turning back. Our wedding is non traditional in the US sense of the word but incorporates some of my cultural traditions. We are ditching the bouquet toss? And instead I am gifting temporary veils to my single friends who are on the search for love. No garter throw, an entertaining cocktail hour and a litany of other things. I think you can have a lot of fun coming up with non traditional wedding ideas. Enjoy this journey.

Hi Essence, I say you both sit down and figure about the vibe you're going for your wedding and then find a venue that matches that vibe. You mentioned Non traditional so maybe look at some out of the box or non traditional venues area the DC area. Take a tour and then book them quickly if you're ready to go. Congrats to you both!
