i might be losing a bridesmaid…

I'm sorry that happened and hope she has a speedy recovery! According to Dr. Google (take that advice as you will), the recovery time is about 6-8 weeks. It looks like there'll be about 11 weeks between her surgery and your wedding, so that seems hopeful at least.

Maybe she can be transported? e.g. a wheelchair? or there are scooter things where she can put one leg on

I would definitely keep her. There's still time before the wedding, and I bet she would want to be supportive of you, even if she's on crutches.

Oh man I m sorry to hear your sister got hurt. Will she be traveling far for the wedding, I think if she feels up to being in the wedding you can absolutely make it work. If she can't walk down the aisle just have her seated where the other bridesmaid will stand. Nobody will even remember if she doesn't walk down the aisle or you can get silly and have someone carry her down ha! Here s hoping her surgery goes as smoothly as possible and she s ready to rock on your wedding day!

Agree with others that it doesn't seem likely that she won't be able to be a bridesmaid. Worst case, you could rent a special wheelchair that will move easily over sand and a groomsman or someone else can push her down the aisle. As for your concern that other attendees will think "its odd", I can't imagine anyone who understands the situation is going to be anything but 100% supportive.... If they aren't, they are just plain rude!

Agree with others above - sounds like there's plenty of time between her surgery and your wedding, and worst comes to worst you can modify some of the logistics around the wedding party's involvement in your ceremony. Like others have suggested, you can look into getting her a wheelchair or she could get one of those knee scooters (yeah, won't look cute, but she'll be able to "walk" down the aisle). Perhaps she will be fine enough to walk with a crutch by then, though. Otherwise, you can look into not even having your wedding party walk down the aisle or stand at the altar with you - you don't have a very big wedding party to begin with, so this wouldn't be all that much of a change? Have your family walk down and seat your wedding party up front.

As for the rest of the wedding, even with limited mobility I'm sure she will be fine to be present at your wedding. She just won't be able to jump around and dance the same way, but I don't think this is really any cause for concern. It will all be fine
