i did the Post wedding chop!

Sarah, on January 14, 2019 at 2:12 AM Posted in Married Life 0 17
I had been growing my hair out for the wedding and now that it’s over I finally did it! It hadn’t gotten a cut in THREE YEARS. Not even a trim. It was sooooo dry and broke so easily. It still has a few more inches to go but I was already so nervous about the length I took off I didn’t want to go any shorter, today.
First picture is one of the only pictures I have that show the full length of my hair because I used to always cut it off in selfies because I was so embarrassed by the texture

I've been growing out my hair for my wedding and I cannot WAIT to cut it! Lol. I have been getting trims but it's just not the same as a nice, fresh cut.

I did the same thing! lol I didn't trim/cut my hair for 1.5 years so it would be long and luscious for the wedding. A few weeks after, I chopped 7 inches off! haha such a great feeling!

Love your new cut! Looks great!

Get trims! I didn't even do that and my hair suffered. Also, I have some friends in beauty school and they needed "models" it's okay to bleach your hair if you really want that look for the wedding but DON'T GO TO A STUDENT!!!!! I have had my hair bleached in the past and it was NEVER this brassy or this dead. I alos have some treatment at home that I love! When I get home from work I will post a photo of that

I love the "new do" it's so cute! I've been growing my hair out too! 1st for my best friend's wedding back in Nov of 18' and now for my wedding in March. My fiancé asked if I was going to cut it after the wedding, I said maybe... he asked if I was going to get a "Can I speak with the manager" hair cut... Oh man. Lol.

Yes! I've heard trims make your hair grow longer! I've also heard that sleeping in loose braids helps. I've always plastered my hair to my head when going to bed because it bothers me to have hair in my face! Turns out it was damaging my hair - severely!

Did your friends in beauty school do your hair for your wedding?

So the thing is, it doesn’t make your hair grow longer REALLY but what happens with dead ends is they break off. So if you get them trimmed at say an inch then you’re only losing an inch. If they break off at 2 inches then you lost 2 (obviously) so while it doesn’t ACTUALLY make your hair grow faster or longer it does help it stay longer. I am in beauty school and I still don’t follow all the “rules” we tell you. Like not brushing your hair when it’s wet and not putting it up at night. I do all the things lol.

And NO! She did not do my hair for the wedding. I went to a fully certified professional. I didn’t want a friend to do it and me hate it and blame her for my not feeling pretty on my big day

Looks so good!! It's always a good feeling cutting off a chunk of your hair, especially after growing it out for so long. Smiley smile
