How to make our wedding fun!

Jaimie, on August 21, 2021 at 9:03 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 17
So I get married in October and I’m having a small wedding.75-100 people. Is anyone else worried that your wedding will suck? There will be a lot of alcohol and we’re going to play beer pong and some yard games will be setup. We’ll also have a dance floor. I’m just worried no one will dance or they’ll just stand around. 😅

Good morning. Your wedding is as fun as you make it. Talk to your dj about how they are going to promote fun. Speak to both sides of the bridal party so that they can get ppl involved. Don't think negative about your big day. It will be beautiful and indeed fun!

I don't think you need games at weddings. I know for me, alcohol, beer pong, & dancing would be enough fun!

Girl I totally agree. We were going to have cornhole setup for the older people.

I know it's all relative, but 75-100 people isn't small. Alcohol + dancing is plenty, anything else is just a bonus. People are just happy to get together, and I'm sure everyone will have a great time!

I agree about the games if you’re worried about not having people on the dance floor! Games give people another “option” and while that is completely okay, they might just choose that option over participating on the dance floor! Some guest won’t like to dance and to them, it probably wouldn’t matter if there was another option or not because they’re just not dancing anyways but it’s just something to consider. Overall your wedding will be beautiful because it’s your wedding! Keep positive, it’s going to turn out amazing!

For our wedding, we had an awesome DJ so nearly everyone danced. We also had a photo booth which every single guest used at least once. We also did a trivia game where guests had to answer questions about us and the last 10 remain guests got a prize. For those that didn't dance they just enjoyed mingling with others.

If most people know each other then you are fine. People will be more than happy with just dancing and mingling.

Alcohol (and a great DJ) helps get people dancing! 75-100 people are plenty for a party vibe. We had 50 guests at our local reception and they danced!

I wouldn’t worry about your wedding turning out bad. I can’t say I have ever been to a wedding that I didn’t enjoy. Some people will dance, some will drink and some will just socialize at tables. If you are still worried - set up some lawn games if you are able to. Cornhole, connect 4, etc.

We had about 70 guests at our wedding and everyone had a great time without any games. Everyone ate, drank, danced and mingled. You don't need games to make it fun. Think your guest will be happy to be attending your wedding. I know our guest were, as most of us hasn't seen each other in a while.

Just had this discussion yesterday with FH. I think we need some sort of entertainment because weddings can be boring, no?

I bought these on amazon. They were a hit! Especially once everyone was on the dance floor.
