How to include our kids in the ceremony

Monica, on September 10, 2021 at 5:16 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 4

Our daughter is 6, shes the flower girl, our son will be 2months. He will be “escorting” my mom down the aisle.

We are having a unity ceremony but its not the usual sand ceremony or anything. We are doing a lasso that is placed around the bride & grooms shoulders. My daughter will help her grandma place it on my shoulder. at the end of the lasso the pastor usually prays over the couple to bless their marriage. I was thinking that maybe immediately after blessing our marriage, our kids can stand with us as the pastor prays over us and blesses our family?
Any thoughts or other suggestions?

I love that idea. I was 9 when my mom married my step dad and they had be at the alter with them. They also incorporated a part of the ceremony where they presented me with a necklace that had 3 rings intertwined that the priest had blessed
