How much is your DJ/MC

Alice, on June 24, 2016 at 6:58 PM Posted in Planning 0 21

I just got a quote for DJ/MC for up to 6 hrs at $1500 (sticker shock)

Makes me wonder whether I should choose the other venue that includes DJ/MC service?

I am about to sign with my current preferred venue tomorrow!

Please advise

My wedding date is 2/19/17 Sunday evening in Orange County, CA

Ask for discounts like if you pay in full, pay all cash, only use certain services that's you really want(don't choose up lighting, photobooth, bs that doesn't matter lol)

Definitely get reviews on the DJ, good ones will help make your reception that much better. Don't book the one just because it's attached to that venue, unless they're good--and in your budget of course.

I agree with above, book the venue first then large vendors.

That's reasonable for LA/OC. I'm paying $1350 for 6 hours for a Friday evening wedding in LA. What does this include? My DJ also typically will do some day of coordinating like working with other vendors but brought down his price since we already hired a DOC.

Does your venue have any restrictions/requirements on DJ's or other vendors? If we didn't use a DJ from their preferred vendor list, I had to get approval prior to contracting with anyone and provide the venue with a copy of vendor's insurance.

I was quoted $800-$1000 and had a bit of sticker shock. I just didn't have a clue as to what they really cost lol.

Paid $550 due to booking him from a bridal expo. His normal rate is $800+. Includes ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, as much up-lighting as can fit, an unlimited # of hours, no travel fee (my wedding is about an hour away), a printed full planner, and an online music planner where you can assign songs to certain times.

Mine is charging $950. They will include 7 hours of music, provide speaker and wireless mic for the ceremony and for toasts, they also will play the specific ceremony music I want involved to make the day special, they will do the intro if we want to do one, and on top of all that they will provide free dance floor lighting. I'm in WNY.

Ours is $750 for 4 hours. We don't want or need an MC, the TVs, or anything else most wedding DJs have today. The company also is a preferred DJ for the restaurant.
