😍 it’s gorgeous! I’ll be going this Saturday for alterations. How much did you have to pay?

The dress was only $670 with the veil! I think alterations are going to be about 300 at the lowest, the top has to be brought it and it needs to be hemmed

Wow! That’s a really good deal for a wedding dress plus veil. I am so scared of alteration prices. I did not know it cost so much. I’m only having it hemmed and I know it’ll cost a lot.

I went to a more expensive boutique and am choosing to use their inhouse seamstress for alterations, so my dress was $2500, alterations are $600. It's having my straps shortened, the length hemmed, and a bustle added

Mine were $200 and they were not simple. My last WW post notes what was done.
I found an independent Seamstress on our town Facebook page. She is fabulous.

I paid $225 for slight adjustments at my neckline, sleeves, sides/back of the dress, and my bustle.

It seems that a difference that can affect the pricing is whether the seamstress leaves the original seams in place except where the slack needs to be removed. Then it was apparently the higher quality service which involves ripping out the whole seam and sewing it up the whole length.

Davids bridal quoted me $800 to $1000+ for alterations (nothing crazy.....hem, taken in slightly, and a bustle). Found an independent seamtress who is doing it for $630.

I paid $435 for my alterations at David’s Bridal. I had my dress hemmed, bustled, and taken in.

I paid a flat fee of $550 for anything to do with my bridal gown. She hemmed it, brought in the bust area, put in cups, fit the torso, waist, hips, and legs to my measurements, changed it from an a-line to sheath, pressed and steamed it. I didn’t like the price at all at first but she did a great job and it fit me like a glove. I thought it fit me well before alterations, but definitely no where near what it looked like after.

I had a mediocre tailor at first, paid her $150, then found a much better tailor that fixed everything and paid her $300, so in all I paid $450 for my dress alterations. It’s a cost that is unfortunately unavoidable/hard to keep down most of the time as it’s very rare for a dress to fit someone perfectly when it arrives from the company.

$600! Got it hemmed. Added cups. Added buttons to pin it up once the ceremony/photos were done. And had to add a corset to the back because I gained weight & my zipper didnt fully close.

My alterations were included with the cost of my dress. The only thing I had to pay extra for was having the bustle added.

I’m expecting to pay around $100.00. I’m having a bustle be added to my dress, take in by arm pits, taken in like an inch at the waist to give that hour glass look and fix the loop at the top where the hook goes through.tenor.gif

I paid $150 for my dress from David's Bridal (I got lucky with the price for a brand new dress) and alterations are $0, because of the material I chose.
