How many are having on site?

Carlin, on April 28, 2022 at 11:34 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 24
How many of you having a hairstylist coming on site? And how many are going to salon to get their hair done? My mom thinks it’s too expensive for on site. I need some feedback

I recommend having your stylist on site it’s worth the cost because you don’t want the hassle of trying to get from point A to point B and get to your wedding on time

    I went to a salon.

i think the on site is a good idea though if they're going to be doing other people's hair too other than just yours

I am having mine come to the hotel where I am getting ready. I have to pay a “travel fee” but feel that it’s worth it.

I would say if you stylist’s salon is around the corner or close to the venue great, but it might be worth her/him coming to you.

We went to a salon and enjoyed it. There were other people around but we had our own little corner and they let us bring in snacks and drinks. I LOVED being off site bc if I had been at the venue (where there would’ve been plenty of space) , I think I would’ve been preoccupied with an eye on the set up happening and it would’ve stressed me out! The hotel would’ve been an alternative option, but we didn’t have a suite or anything so would’ve been cramped for space. So, it was nice to be at the salon; completely removed from everything, and enjoying the pampering!

I'm having my HMUA team come to the hotel suite we're staying at. The travel fee wasn't too bad and I felt it was worth it to pay since their salon is the opposite direction from our ceremony, so we'd have to get started even earlier and involve more driving.

We went to the salon. She actually opened up a bit early for us, and we were allowed to bring breakfast and prosecco. It was nice because we were able to have multiple stylists working on multiple people and they had all their tools handy. There were 7 of us including my mom and husband's mom so having everyone getting a service done sped up the process by a lot versus only having 2 stylists if they were to have traveled to us.

I highly recommend having them onsite! It was just easier for myself the moms, and wedding party to have our makeup and hair stylists in one place at the venue. I liked how I was able to relax and not feel rushed to go and be anywhere at a certain time.

We are having on-site hair and make up. I have been in a ton of weddings, and every time we’ve had to go to a salon for hair and make up, it just seems to be a fiasco, it’s always running late, and the bride is always behind on her schedule. Plus, I want to be relaxed and stress-free on my wedding day. I don’t want to worry about having to drive somewhere, possibly hitting traffic, etc. I’d prefer to just relax in my hotel room with my girls and Drink mimosas. Plus, getting ready photos will look much nicer in the hotel, instead of a hair salon. And if you are in a salon, there may be other customers getting services done the same time you are there- so you will have to be more quiet and more respectful of their experience; and it could be limiting to your Photographer, as they will need to also be respectful of other customers there, and you may end up with random strangers in your photos. And I think we will all feel more comfortable in leggings, pajamas, robes, etc. (whatever comfy thing we decide to wear while getting ready) in a private hotel room, rather than a public salon.

Just make sure your on-site location allows hair stylists. My daughter's site did not allow it because of the ton of hairspray used (making the suite sticky).

I had my hair done on site because one of my friends is a hair stylist, we had a bridal room with good lighting, mirrors, and outlets to get ready, and I didn't have to drive with my hair all done up. But that all worked out because it was my friend doing it.

I got my makeup done at a salon because every MUA I looked up was charging a ton to travel to the site. I ended up paying ~$50 at a salon in comparison to $180 - $300 for a traveling MUA.
If price is the factor, there's nothing wrong getting your hair and makeup done at a salon. You're getting ready pictures may not be Instagram perfect for hair and makeup, but that's usually the least important photos of the day

We went to a nearby salon (less than 15 minutes from our venues), and it was great! It was less expensive ($75-100 for both hair/makeup per person), quicker (everyone was hair and makeup ready in just 2 hours), and less stressful (as another poster mentioned I wasn’t distracted by decor). The groomsmen delivered donuts there, and we had plenty of time to grab lunch on the way and finish any last minute decor before getting dressed. We only had to touch up our lipstick, and they gave us samples for that.

The makeup/hair stylist will be coming to my venue to doll up me and my girls! The travel fee will definitely be worth it to me!

My hair stylist will be coming on site to do hair for 7 of us (including me). She's worked with 3 of us before and is confident she can get it all done in time. She actually doesn't charge extra for coming on site within a certain radius.

No, they usually request you have your hair washed, dried and straightened so it’s ready for them to style.

On site, but only because her salon is next door to the venue. Otherwise I would be going to the salon to save on travel fees. I want an extremely simple look that I could probably replicate myself though, so I'm not concerned about touch ups or anything.

For my wedding we are going to the salon for hair & makeup. They are allowing us to bring danish/bagels & mimosa’s if we’d like. They’re providing coffee/tea. My cousins wives are the ones doing our hair so they’ll be onsite for the church & reception, but if not I would still opt for going to the salon. This way they have everything they need at the ready instead of taking a chance they run out of something or forget something.
