How early should i set up a bridal dress appointment?

Annie, on February 8, 2022 at 5:44 PM Posted in Texas Planning 0 6

I am getting married in May 2023. Should i set up an appointment for May/June of 2022 or go earlier? Also, for the Dallas, TX brides, i have been looking into Circle Park Bridal Boutique and BBLewisville. Any recommendations?

I agree, a year is fine. Generally, dresses that are not 'off the rack' take anywhere up to 12 months to be sent (although most are much less), and then you need to factor in alterations time too, which obviously depends on what dress you get, and what you're having done to it.

There are off-the-rack dresses and sample sales you can buy a frock at, where you're able to take it home straight away, but it's an exciting thing to book in to look at dresses, plus it's nice to have extra time up your sleeves if you need it.

Dress shopping was one of my fondest memories of the wedding planning experience and even though I really tried to let it sink in and really enjoy it, it was so quick! I say, go out and enjoy it, and really luxuriate in it!

I didn't know it would be like this at the time, but in hindsight I feel like we had to postpone, cancel or reorganise many elements of our wedding, and having gone dress shopping early on, it ended up being one the only things where I didn't hold myself back from looking forward to it in case covid spoilt things. So much of joy we get out of things is from anticipation, so I'm glad I got to have a little bit of that, in the end.

Hopefully you'll really enjoy the experience too!

Totally agree- 1 year is fine. I planned on going the year before but, thanks to COVID, I bought my dress in June (2020) for my 4/3/21 wedding. I was soo nervous & scared that I wouldn’t find my dress & it wouldn’t be ready in time!

I would say a year is probably enough time, but definitely no harm in going earlier if you’re itching to go and try on some pretty dresses!
