My FH and I are a classic modern love story - we met on Tinder! We've been together 4.5 years now, getting married in April. Looking back, I think I knew on that first date that he was the one I was going to marry Smiley heart

My fiancé’s and my meeting(s) are a joke amongst our friends because they were both “scandalous”. The first time I met him was at a bar 10 years ago. I was actually there with one of his buddies (we had gone on a few dates at this point). The town they lived in was very small, so I thought I had met pretty much everyone around our age there; but my (now) fiancé had been deployed, so I had never met him. This was his first night out after returning home from Iraq. I swear to you, it was like a movie. The door to the bar swung open and these three guys walked in, and my eyes immediately went to FH. I was completely smitten at first sight. I grabbed the girl next to me and asked “WHO IS THAT?!” I had a crush on him from that day forward. Like I said, that town was very small, so we ended up at the same bars, parties, etc. often (so we now have pictures of us together from 10 years ago, which is pretty cool). I ended up dating his friend for quite a while, and he ended up in a relationship with another girl. Once his friend and I split up, I didn’t see him again for 5 years since I lived in St. Louis and he was still in that small town in Illinois. Fast forward 5 years and his buddy that I had dated lost his father. I drove the 4 1/2 hours back to the small town to attend the funeral. Just as I was leaving, FH walked in the door. And I swear, it was just like the first time I had seen him all over again. The room stood still and everyone disappeared but him. Of course I went over and gave him a big hug and we started chatting. I had to cut it short though, because I was driving the 4 1/2 hours back to St. Louis to work the next morning. I hadn’t even made it back home and he had text me. We started texting each other more & more frequently. Then texting turned to talking on the phone for hours. After a few months, I visited him. Because the town he lived in was sooo small and everyone already knew me there because I had dated his friend (Who still liked me & wanted to get back together) we couldn’t go out anywhere because we knew the gossip mill would start churning. So we just stayed at his house, watched a scary movie, had some cocktails, listened to music, and talked. It was like being with my best friend. The following weekend he drove to St. Louis to visit me and before he left on Sunday he asked me to date exclusively. We kept it secret for several months. When word finally got out, it was quite the scandal! People gossiped about it for at least a good 6 months. Then, the gossip started again when we got engaged LOL Now my friends joke that I picked him up at a funeral 🤦🏼‍♀️

We met at church. i had not been going to church in ages and i only really was the kind that made appearances for the holidays. so we met a couple times before but we never spoke. anyway, it was not until months later when i started going a bit more regularly that one day he sat next to me and we hit it off so much! and the rest is history. one of the happiest moments for my day is that i can tell people we got married at the place we met at. we were fortunate enough to be able to marry there at that church too

That's awesome! My Ryan and I met at church too! we had loosely known each other for 3 years before dating and due to life and work, we had not spoken for 1 full year, (i ended up leaving his church to go to one were more of my friends were going...) now after 2 years of dating we are inseparable, best friends, and are looking forward to getting married! but what got the ball rolling was i said happy birthday to him on facebook, he "loved" my comment where he "liked" everyone else's birthday wishes, i private messaged him (after a year of not seeing or talking to him) jsut to catch up and the private messages were non stop from his birthday a thursday through late saturday night (now early sunday morning like 1am) where he asked me to go on date with him.. after 3 dates (like 3 weeks in a row) he asked me to be his girlfriend....now 2 years later we are talking engagement and wedding!!!

I met him at work. We were in different departments of the office. Once we got serious, I quickly found opportunity elsewhere.

We met in HS. We were 13 and became best friends. at 15 he asked me to be his girlfriend but I said no because I was worried I'd lose my bestie if things didn't work out. Few weeks went by and I realized I didn't wanna see him with anyone else so I asked him to be my boyfriend (he wasn't gonna ask again lol) and we've been together since. Including 5 years of long distance when he went away for college to play baseball. My mom jokes that we've been together since kindergarten lol

We met in HS in PE class! He was the only boy in the whole class, and we didn't talk until the end of the semester when I overheard a conversation about the new Star Wars movie and bath and body works lol. Smiley xd We became best friends and after a couple months we both got HUGE crushes on each other. We were so shy about it though and could barely look each other in the eye! Smiley xd In May not long before the school year ended he finally admitted it during a late night text session and we've been dating ever since! We did almost 2 years of long distance, dealt with my very non-approving parents, and moved me back across the country, moved in together, got engaged, and are getting married all within 4.5 years! It's been a crazy ride and I wouldn't have it any other way.

We met at work. I used to work in the emergency room & he’s a firefighter/paramedic. He was going through some tough things & I was going through a very nasty, horrible divorce. We were NEVER supposed to be serious, just a friend with benefits kind of thing. That was back in 1999- we did take a break from **** since we had some growing up to do. I came back into town in 2016 for my grandmother’s 100th birthday party & asked him to meet for dinner. When he came around the corner, my heart skipped a beat, I knew right then that he’s always been the one! Thank God he felt the same!

Went to college with his roommate in 2011, still had the roommate on instagram when he posted a picture of my now fiancé. He looked so tall, and I’m 6’0, so I had to have him😂 I slid in his dms and it’s been love ever since

My story is a bit of a scandal but not really...I actually love telling it! We met in high school because my best friend was actually dating him and he was her date to our junior prom. So I met him at my prom! My best friend ended up breaking up with him a few weeks later, said that they just weren’t that compatible and there was nothing there but a good friendship. She told me she actually thought he’d be perfect for me instead, but I didn’t want to pursue it because I didn’t feel right even though I had her blessing and a HUGE crush on him. We hung out ALL the time and became really great friends. Then I went away to college and he found another girl (who was terrible and banned us from having a friendship). Fast forward 10 years and some bad life decisions, he popped up on my best friend’s Facebook because someone tagged him in her post. I noticed his profile said single, then I ended up swiping him on tinder. So I decided to take the chance and we started talking again. We met up again on Christmas night and I knew at that moment that this was it, he was my one. My best friend still gives me crap that I should’ve listened to her years ago because clearly she knew what she was talking about!

My fiance and I met in College through a mutual friend. The three of us were a great little group and I got hit by the crush wagon... Bad. Found out it was mutual two years later, and three years after that were engaged. Mutual friend kinda vanished from the picture before that though.

I met my fiancé on my third day of work at my first job in Las Vegas almost ten years ago. That day we didn’t say hi, a coworker actually introduced us. We didn’t hit it off right away, apparently he was speechless (not easy to do). He says that he thought I was so beautiful from day one. I wasn’t overly interested in him except to talk sports. Granted I did think he was a handsome guy & I really liked his cologne. Some of our coworkers constantly told me I should talk to him and we would be perfect together. I eventually gave him my number a month or so into working there. He never asked for it but I figured it was easier than messaging him on Facebook. From the start I was super skeptical of giving people my number, it wasn’t a personal thing against him. For the longest time he was the only person at work other than management that had my number. We’ve talked every single day since I gave him my number. The rest is history ❤️

We were set up without ever knowing we were going to be set up.

He was in a (bad) production of Hamlet, which was directed and produced by a friend of mine. This friend loved to use theatre space as efficiently as possible, so he filled in the time between Hamlets with a series of one acts that I was in, directed by someone DH *also* knew.

Anyway, my show was rehearsing between DH's show running, and our mutual friend left DH the keys to the theatre.

It was a scorching hot day in June, in NYC, and the theatre's AC wasn't great, so DH went outside. He was wearing a Phillies shirt.

I walked up to rehearsal, and saw this cute guy with a Phillies shirt IN NYC OUTSIDE A THEATRE.

Me: "You're a Phillies fan, too? The Marlins are killing us right now!" (...I did not mean for that to become a prophecy for the rest of our lives.)

    Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand that was that.

We've known each other since college, but we've developed our feelings later on when I attended our first reunion with my college friends, he was there single at that time and ready to mingle. Ooops.

I'm from a small town. FH and I went to the same school but are two year apart. We knew "of" each other, had some mutual friends, but had never actually spoken to each other.

A few years later, we met on TriviaCrack. Yes, the trivia game. He sent a request to play me (we were Facebook friends) and I ended up sliding into the DMs and meeting him for coffee.

Five years later.... we're getting married. Funny how that works?

We met at a gay club my first night in my dorm, which coincidentally I did not end up spending in my dorm. Neither of us were out so I didn't really expect it to be anything. But then it turned out we were both on the hockey team. Ended up spending plenty of time together. Whole first season was super fuckin awkward.
