How can I register for help toward my honeymoon?

Brittany, on June 13, 2010 at 9:45 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 9

I went to a wedding where the bride was registered for people to contribute toward her honeymoon. Guests were able to pay for things like a 'couples massage' and 'dinner on the beach' etc. I want to do that but don't know how! Any ideas?

    HI Brittany

A Honeymoon gift registry is a great solution for many people- especially for those who already have "the essentials" to start a home- or for those who are stretching for the honeymoon and the extras that make it special are just our of reach-

Here is a link to a Honeymoon registry that I can provide

email me with any questions you may have-

    Best of luck, and congratulations!

We are planning on going on a cruise and are going to set up a registry through carnival. The other ladies on here though have used other website--I'll let them answer because for the life of me, I can't remember any of them!!

We used Honeyfund.com and we've been really happy with it. You can completely customize it and there are almost no fees (only paypal fees, if you choose to you use that)

Here's our page if you want to see what it's all about:

I have to say what I have to say here...

If you cannot afford a honeymoon, do not take one. I find it tacky that couples think that friends should help pay for this.

I agree with Kathy R. I think if your guests want to give you something monetary they will in a card at your wedding. But if a honeymoon registry is what you want to do then just be sure that you can afford the actual honeymoon if no one or one person actually contributes. That way their money won't be wasted on a gift you couldn't afford anyway.

Many couples already have all the household items they need, so it doesn't make sense to register again for these items. A honeymoon registry allows family and friends to contribute to their honeymoon instead of doing a traditional gift. We use The Honeymoon for our clients. They have a great website, and you'll receive the funds promptly.

I registered at ourwishingwell.com for our honeymoon. Our honeymoon is paid for, but my family loves giving cash and gift cards so I figured it would be a way for them to do so. Which is fine, Ill just go buy all the stuff on the registries with the gift cards and use the cash for extra spending money on our honeymoon. You can also register on places like ourwishingwell.com for very large ticket items like big screen tv's, new bedroom set, etc. It allows everyone to pitch in. I also registered at Target and on Amazon.com for new camping stuff. We are replacing some older stuff and added a few "that would be nice but we dont need it" stuff. But I honestly dont think much of my registry will be bought or contributed too.

Our clients are all offered a free honeymoon registry web site where they can upload information, pictures, and make selections for their wish list. Many people do not like to give money and others are always in a quandry of what to give the couple, they questions whether their selection will be the same style that the couple prefers or if something is the wrong color, etc. No one wants their gift to spend it's life sitting in a box in the back of a closet! This is an option that allows the couple to assist their guests in the selection process and the registry itself is an easy way for the couples to reach their friends and family.

Follow our link and check out the wedding page, look for the pink button, top right on the page which will take you to the honeymoon registry!

You could do something slightly different, but with the same idea to get money/cash to pay for it.

My hubbie-to-be's family is Chinese so they are really cool about giving cash - I was a little worried about asking for cash from some of the older members of my family (my friends were fine about it, as they have been in exactly the same position as me!) so I've set up out list at www.uponourstar.com I've chosen a bunch of cool 'wishes' for us, a lot to do on our honeymoon (snorkeling, spa, dinner out) , and now my fam can 'buy' us those (& then we get the cash after the wedding, yay!).

Steves' family will still give us red packet / Hong Bao too which will be nice. Also, I'm pretty excited about not getting more stuff, I don't need any more wine glasses or sheets ;*)

I would consider Upon Our Star if you want something a little different!
